i thought barry would have answered this one brian.
if nobody knows what the treaty was about then dave must have been right not to sign it.
the fact that sarkozy and merkel have been thoroughly nasty to our prime minister over the matter suggests that they are disappointed at being unable to pull a fast one

There was no treaty to sign!
Reg, polls have indicated that two thirds of people in Britain say Cameron did the right thing using the veto.
Of the remaining one third, many don't know, and a small minority said he did wrong.
Brian, if Dave had signed the so-called "treaty???", uproar would have broken out in Britain, the Government would have probably collapsed by now and Dave would be out of the Tory Party.

That so called Treaty will not even pass in most of the '26' anyway. Today it is looking dead in the water.
The only questions to ask is whether the next crisis summit can be held off until January or will they have to have one in December.
Look at what is happening in the markets as well as the European political scene - the whole deal had no credibility anyway. The Euro is doomed in its present form and membership.

I really do not see where you get your ideas about the EU from Brian - that is a long way from the truth, if it was so then we would not be in the present Eurozone crisis.

fascinating article, the pact between the 26 is floundering already.
rather a telling comment from the irish finance minister on the subject of referendums.
