Keith, please enlighten me. You keep saying " Same old UKIP " as being undemocratic as though they have a long history of such underhandedness. I would be interested to learn, therefore, how you consider UKIP to be an undemocratic party apart from this somewhat insignificant local issue involving Vic? Now "Mike Gapes", the labour MP, there`s a good example of "undemocratic" for you in such a major way that could have actually determined the future of our country! I don`t think that, for some reason, you`ve ever mentioned him at all in your quest for "democracy"?
As an aside, I fully agree with other posters comments in as much as what you see is what you get with Vic. I also class him as a friend and above all and most importantly I know that he has a big heart. Vic may have, at times, his own unique way of going about things but overall he is simply passionate and concerned about trying to do the best for our town. I believe that has always been his aim and intention.

Time to give Vic a break, his good lady Lesley has a serious illness and was due to undergo a major operation today. He spoke to me the other night and said he did not mind people knowing on here, I was not going to post on it but seeing this thread keep coming up thought it only right you know the reason he is not posting.
I am sure we all wish Lesley a full and speedy recovery.

Yes indeed, best wishes to Lesley - Vic, if you're looking in but not posting, we all wish Lesley well. Give her our (collective) love for a good recovery. Must be tough for you too, so try and keep your chin up (very difficult it times like these, but you must try).

That is good news and it must be the best Christmas present both of you could receive.

To my shame I've been guilty of "knocking Vic" in the past. However I have tried more recently to see the deeper man behind the bravado and I was wrong. He is a caring man and as already said he cares passionately about Dover. Vic I'm sorry.
I do hope your wife gets well soon and that you have a healthy and happy Christmas and New Year. May 2014 be the start of a wonderful new phase in your lives with Lesley in much better health. xx
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".
