Is there a project timetable for DTIZ, available to the public?

Oh Dear! that looks a right tip Howard. Im guessing its the rear of a well known hacks establishment...
Nathan I think its in the lap of the planning gods as I understand it. But it seems to be moving forward this time, albeit ever so slowly. But its very early days.

See from today's Dover Express that Travelodge have pledged to come to Dover but note that the DTIZ is only "one of the sites they are looking at". This is despite their hotel being shown in the plans, and being a vital part of everyone's favourite, the removal of Burlington House. It looks as if the plans being pushed through won't even have the assurance of the one point that is selling it to people.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

I think DTIZ most likely choice and the announcement will be made by Travelodge in the new year, probably January which would coincide with the planning application., although there is always that chance they pick a different site

I see there is an objection already from the Town Council....
Ms A Burton, Dover Town Council
Comment Date: Fri 16 Dec 2011
The Committee strongly objects to a large scale LED Screen it is inappropriate in this high profile site in historic Dover & will not sit well with the historic setting of the White Cliffs & Castle.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

oh dear, hope this does not mean yet another delay to the long awaited development.
not sure the size of the screen in question or what it would display.

Can't see it being any worse than a permanently parked lorry advertising P&O ??

It does not compute Will Robinson. The council eagerly embraced the giant telly in the market square and object to a screen some small distance away.
Weird is too small a word to describe an objection on the grounds given.

PhilpP thats what I was trying to reconcile

two different councils, the town council were not in favour of the big screen in market square if my memory serves me correct.
not that it matters, most of the town councils recommendations are overturned at district level.

typical just typical.just as things get started some one sticks a size 9 in the groin area.
I wouldnt find the proposed screen any more intrusive than the illuminated adverts that play in the docks , or the market square TV ( even though it will be much bigger ) It could even turn into a landmark rather like the lights of Piccadilly circus
