He got into trouble for calling the Squeaker, John Bercow, a stupid sanctimonious dwarf so he can't be all bad.

refusing to shake hands with the speaker is rather juvenile though.

Thank you all
First impressions, appear to me, he will get on extremely well with Doctor/Mr Bob Goldfield. Autocratic association with Paddy Field work mentality etc.
Heaven help us and Dover

"I'm not Happy"
Bercow once proclaimed
Which of the seven are you then?
Or so the story goes.

to be pedantic tom i remember bercow saying to dave "i'm not happy prime minister and the reply came back "which one are you then"?
on a more serious note this impasse is doing serious damage to dover, investors do not want to know while the town is in a state of flux.
i get the impression that personalities are flexing their muscles trying to defeat each other and come out winning, as it stands the town will be the big loser.

His general behaviour seems bullish, arrogant even-but appears to have pulled the votes in his constituancy.
At least its good news that its all narrowed down to the say so of one bloke-meaning a decision sooner rather than later...is the amply proportioned lady about to sing?
Never give up...

The best solution is the risk-free one, that would see the Port free of debt and bringing in a constant revenue to the local communities, year after year.
Much better than a one-off payment followed by fractional annual dividends.
We need the solution that would not see the Treasury transferring £200 million of Public Debt to the Port of Dover.
Where local regeneration does not depend on a borrowed sum of money to be repaid with the interest, and we can proudly say that the Port is an integral part of the Town and District through a transfer scheme free of charge from Central Gov. to the Town and District of Dover..
Good old Dover by the Sea
Good old Dover by the Sea
We're going up
And we'll win the cup
For Dover by the Sea.

There is no such thing as a risk free solution.

#154 - for Dover Port to continue to be competative against both the Channel Tunnel and alternate Cruise Liner ports of call, calculated risks need to be taken and investments are needed even if it means getting into debt....
Been nice knowing you :)
