Does seem strange that you are pushing an agenda, and i presume wanting support
to then want to keep it all a secret between you and some govt official

good to know the rude pills are still working.
a) a representation is a multiple paged document not a simple letter.
b) as everyone on here knows the department for transport are the body that make the decision, i doubt the monarch has any real interest in the outcome.

Keith, a request reached me to print my reps on the Forum, and I haven't asked anyone for their support here.
It's all in the hands of the DfT.
Although DPPT say they are contacting ministers and financial institutions of all kinds and colours, 10 Downing Street informed me that the only Office responsible is the Department for Transport, which is why the Prime Minister forwarded my enclosures to that office.
I don't need to contact any other office or person for support, Keith!

keith
no organisation or individual has put their representation here or anywhere in the public domain, they would be mad to.
i don't understand why alex is being singled out.

But Alex has told us he's not a contender for control of the port -so what does it matter?

Nothing stoping him to try and get a seat on the D.H.B,THEY have members of the public on there.

Yes Vic and most of the directors' seats are up for grabs in a few months. You could apply.

Quite right, Richard, I've never aimed at any sort of control over Dover's Port.
Control of the Port was never up for public consultation, and I've never disputed DHB's status nor asked for any of its members to step down.
Let's just hope this doesn't get dragged into a circular argument.
The ongoing dispute in that respect is DPPT challenging DHB.
I'm merely involved in following up the local regeneration aspect of the consultation, and I hope that no-one running the Port would be also running investments on regeneration of Town and District.
It's not a good idea for the local Community to run the Port, or for the Port to run the Community.
Anyway, it's hard to believe the Government would ever hand over the Port's governance to a platea of common people; they'd surely see to it that it is run by qualified people who are in contact with the DfT and the relevant Secretary of State.
Which is what DHB currently does.

And is what DPPT could do even better. We are almost all seasoned business people, not government placemen.

as are the other organisations/consortiums waiting in the wings for their chance to bid.
people may be mistaken if they think it is straight fight between dhb and dppt.
