Alexander, if you cannot understand how something simple like the employment process actually works, on the global stage, then you will understand nothing and forever post in blind ignorance. I am not trying to trample freedom of expression or a contrary opinion on you. I have only posted the fact of the matter. Please try to adopt a more mature approach, if you can.

a bit unfair sid, the global employment stage does not work unless everyone has a chance to apply for a vacancy.

Howard, don't tell me you are beginning to think and post like Alexander. Surely YOU understand how the global employment works, EVERYONE does have a chance of applying, but most don't bother for various reasons.
Shame on you, Sid, for inflicting a contrary opinion. You know there is no cure yet, and they can be fatal.

I believe some priorities should be set. If in Britain every private-sector job and more and more state-sector jobs are available to every citicen in the e.u. in the name of equal opportunitues, then this can only lead to the end! Young people leaving school could hardly get a chance in their own town or village or anywhere in their own Country if a more experienced foreigner gets the job for being more experienced. It comes under gros neglect on the part of gov. towards the people they were supposed to reppresent. Also, if millions can march through and settle here and live of benefits for five years doing naught, and then grab a "British passport" and thereafter get benefits, it can only lead to the end.
If, as Barry claimed, the Tories want to allow tens of thousands, and not more than that, of people to immigrate among us a year, then I would like to know how many tens of thousands a year, and have a say in my preferences. Starting with the Irish, Australians, New Zealanders and Canadians. To then go on to French, Italians, Germans, Iberians, Scandinavians, Greeks, Dutch, Austrians, Swiss.
Furthermore, I won't change my views on this!
But what about the other Commonwealth countries? Surely Indians, Pakistani's, Sri Lankans and Bangladeshi's should come before EU nationalities? Where do Nigerians, Ghanaians, Zimbabweans, Kenyans, Zambians etc., come in the list? What about the Caribbean nations, they need to be included too.
Also, exclude the Swiss please, they don't belong to the EU, so cannot be allowed entry. Their cheese has holes in it too, so we are being ripped off when we buy it as we are paying for Swiss air!

Sid, all these peoples you mentioned, except the Swiss, live in independent countries. They are not citizens of a British Empire, not even of a private company run Empire, and the commonwealth you mention is a fake, as these countries share no common wealth with eachother or with Britain.
The Australians, Newzealanders and Canadians are to a large part of British origin and speak English, and therefore my preference is that we have a Commonwealth with these countries that one day functions really well, and could also see a new chapter written concerning emmigration between our Country and theirs, on reciprocal basis, obviously. But only democratically approved, as I don't tend to ram my views down other peoples throats and never support tyranny systems such as the e.u. I also belive that Britain and Ireland should one day unite into one Country with four constituent Countries, Ireland being united, and a part of the British Isles as a Country; but again, only if there is an agreement reciprocally accepted, without throat-ramming.
The Swis, Sid, are fine people, I know that the e.u. tyranny does not want the Swiss entering other countries, but ultimately we will fight the e.u. off on the ballot, looking down on a sheet of paper and, brandishing a red pen, cancelling the e.u. from our shores. Then the Swiss can also be included in immigration numbers that yearly may enter our Country, once we've established how many this whole number should be. Democratically, mind, without tyranny e.u. throat-ramming!

sid
on many big construction projects, agencies overseas recruit on a low wage people to bring here to do the work.
local people in the areas concerned do not have the opportunity to apply.

Howard, I'm glad that you explain this, because I think many people believe every tosh that is said by Labour, and don't realise that the facts are very descriminatory indeed towards British citizens deprived from the right to work in their own Country.
