I did make my apologies to Terry yesterday.May I take this opportunity to apologies to Terry again.
The arrangement we had was for sound to be available for 11.00am unfortunately the sun left the square and the temperature plummeted and it was uncomfortable for all but especially for children and us old ones.
Always have a contingency plan............feeble in comparison..........my old loud hailer.
Terry please do not totally retire.Your excellent services are invaluable for Dover`s special important occasions.
PS..............a classic professional performance from David Hannent...............Many Thanks.

There were faults all round Reg, although I go back to what I said earlier, 2 hours was far too long.

I didn't get down to the Town Hall until 11.30 and it was all over by then. Fortunately I bumped into three old Soldiers and Forumites, Ian Lilford, Ted Smith and Guzzler (Tom) and they put me in the picture. In fact Ian showed me the pictures on his new camera (very smart Ian).
I had an aperitif with them and they left to have a School dinner at Blakes.

Post 114 from Tom sums it up well.
A Conservative government, and then a Tory MP asking why Dover is still waiting for a hospital.
Shouldn't the Government be answering that question, I mean Mr. Elphicke?
Or have I dismally missed something?

Oh, Sarah! Then are all these photos of Charlie on the front page and this thread from years gone by?
Well then where is he now? Should he not be giving an answer as to why one of his founding election campaign promises ended up with a noting-at-all?
I can remember every time I published an article about Dover on Suite 101, an ad came up from Charlie Elphicke with the title: we need a hospital in Buckland!
These ads have long disappeared from my articles.

thought i would resurrect this thread as lorraine and chris brought it into western heights development thread.
had a glossy document through from charlie with a heading "new hospital in new year?"
underneath the artists impression of a hospital it says "a proper hospital for dover?"
charlie is clearly doubtful of this happening, a massive petition has been handed in, we have had a rally but any sort of hospital looks a long way off.

There isn't a real belief that dover will get a hospital()new) more they will get a clinic,

The PCT are calling it a hospital and those working in the Haemo-dialysis unit there think it is to be a hospital.

yes howard
more likely to be a small clinic/cottage giving a few services
not the all singing that people are expecting
