Again I have not confirmed anything,we all have our own ways of going about doing things.Again I am not saying the rally is right or wrong,or will it work or will it not,
I was on the rally over the prison,And I was the one that was stoping the lorrys going into the docks over it. Like Alot of you i have been on many rallys over the years,and I have not said I will not go to this one.But I will not go there just to say I was there.I like to work on my own.
WTF does that mean? It really is only in cooperation and partnership that these things ever happen. I am sure what you do is valuable Vic, but it won't work in isolation and it would be foolish to think it would. In fact, Howards post says it all.

"I like to work on my own"
That comment just about sums up what is so irritating about you at times Vic.

Please do not think all the hold ups have been down to the NHS Alot of the holdups was down to our own MP and he will be with you on the RALLY,one must aske why.?
Why must you take every opportunity to expose your own political ineptitude? If someone with a bit of clout gains something from publicly supporting a cause, what exactly is wrong with that? Isn''t that how things work? How do you think things happen?By everyon doing their own thing?

that is rather unfair vic and most certainly untrue.
firstly blue charlie has only been in the job for 18 months, this isse has been going on for 10 years to my knowledge.
secondly every time we see him on the box he bangs on about a hospital for dover regardless of the subject matter.
thirdly no planning application has yet been lodged, nothing to do with him.
finally and most importantly an insider sent me copies of e mails exchanged between ekhtnhs or whatever the correct acronym is and our honourable member and it is clear that charlie is busting a gut and hitting a brick wall at the same time.
Exactly Howard -I have the greatest respect for Charlie and his commitment to health services, and he has indeed bust a gut. He is working with some difficult material and deserves a bit more credit from us, and considerably more support. What do you have to gain from your negative attitude Vic?

I have no gains for myself,I am not doing it for gain, at the age of 69 why do I like most at that age not just sit back and do nothing say nothing and so on. I do it because I love Dover,now back to Hospital,You might not agree with me on this but the main holdup before the birthing unit,was our own MP trying to get the Hospital build at Whitfield,because he was the MP saying it ,plans were put on hold till that was sorted out,You go on to say how negative I am again that is not how I see it.You can log into some of the public meetings I have got up and had my say,Just log into Vic Matcham Dover Kent and you will see for yourself. We will see what happens ,I hope the rally works for the town,but I can not see at this time that it will..In the mean time I will go about what I am doing and saying at any meeting I get to.
Try again. No one has dissed the stuff you do - meetings are your thing, Vic, great, go for it. But they won't hit the spot on their own, and there has to be collaboration and a multi faceted approach or it won't work. And I maintain that you are being grossly unfair to an MP who works hard and effectively for his constituents, often against challenging odds. PCTs and SHAs are the places where sharks go to swim.

What has your age got to do with it, there are a lot more of us of a similar age and older who do not "not just sit back and do nothing say nothing and so on" but we do not go on and on about it. My manageress is 80 she just quietly gets on with the job only seeking publicity to promote the shop not herself.
Our MP is really working hard for this area.

Let's hope the people of Dover can just have "one voice" rather than the mavericks who think they know best.....
Been nice knowing you :)

blimey i go away for a few days and all this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
from the start
HOWARD;
You are correct this issue has been ongoing for many years, and it's no one person's fault things havn't happened.
GENERAL;
Quite clearly it is being seen that one individual is putting himself before progress
speaking mainly on what he has done or is, rather than concentrating on how things can get better with a combination of people working together.
There are a number of ways of making the health trust/goverment to sit up and listen, many have been tried, and we should all get behind the latest rally by REG
people power does work, the prison rally showed that.
What we shouldnt do is put personal ambition before what's best for Dover.
On charlie, of course he has a lot of short coming and not my cup of tea, but that said he cannot take all the blame for the position we find ourselves in.
a number of issues such as infighting by different groups locally, the trust stalling tactics, plus much much more.
So lets get behind this rally and show the trust we mean business.

PETER;
You realy do need to re read my posts, you know i'm no fan of charlie's but have made it clear charlie alone cannot be blamed for the lack of progress on a hospital for Dover(like one poster is trying to do)

Having worked on this Campaign for four years I can assure everyone..........that Charlie has worked extremely hard
and long on the Hospital Campaign.
Having had many meetings with the Managements and Boards of the Primary Care Trusts and East Kent Health
Authorities we know how soul destroying it is.......... but Charlie has never stopped trying............nor will we.
