Yes, agreed. Pretty much all over for them now.

It is an outside chance and tactics have been questionable
but could be a blessing in disguise
that said it could go to last game as other clubs also struggled

Dover 3 : 2 Gateshead. A late winner and other favourable results mean that Whites find themselves, improbably, back in the last playoff spot with one game to go. The two midweek games involving Ebbsfleet and Bromley (both with a game in hand) are likely to change things, but at the moment we're still in it.

we have to be thankful to the Gateshead keeper for dropping the ball for Dover's late winner

Down to 9th after last night's results. Though it's still mathematically possible to finish in the playoffs, my verdict is: not a chance. Our final game is away at Woking, who'll be desperate to make sure they don't take the final relegation spot. Should we overcome them, then we'd need two of the four immediately above us to slip up.

Indeed. Very unlikely but overall a good season and hopefully one they can build on for next year.

Paul
Being a supporter since the 60's(bill swain days) I will always be there
but even I question some of the managers tactics this season.
going 1-0 up and 11 defenders for 80 minutes a problem
And the 3 games giving away late winners cost Dover in the end.
I think its about does the club want to go any further?

For anyone who cannot get to Woking for the 1230 kick-off this Saturday, the match will be broadcast live on BT Sport:

For anyone without BT Sport (e.g. me), tough.

Woking 1 : 2 Dover. Not enough, as Whites finish 8th and outside the playoffs, paying for late goals conceded against Eastleigh, Ebbsfleet and Maidenhead in the run-up. Still, not bad for a team with only one man and his dog at the beginning of the season.
The next one is likely to be tougher: Chesterfield and either Barnet or Morecambe from League 2 and big money Salford City (part-owned by Giggs et al) from NL North.

I don't normally take any interest in football but have just been disappointed to have wasted 90 minutes watching the women's FA Cup.
I thought the teams always swap shirts at the end of the match?

Following the final auditions for next season's National League performances, exeunt Macclesfield and Tranmere into the lights, and Guiseley, Chester, Torquay and Woking through the trapdoor. In from the wings come Chesterfield, Barnet, Havant & Waterlooville, Salford, Harrogate and Braintree. As Dover will have a little less running about the stage to do, they should be able to focus more on the script.

While everyone's eyes are on the tattoo and hairstyle tournament taking place in Russia, some important football business is happening here in town right now. DAFC players (all 8 of them in my reckoning) return to pre-season training this week. Six were already on contract and of the ones offered new contracts only one, winger Kadell Daniel, has so far signed on. In addition, striker Inih Effiong has signed following an unsuccessful spell at Ross County. Winger Mitch Pinnock, defenders Manny Parry and Femi Illesanmi, and striker Ryan Bird have all rejected new contract offers and gone to other clubs. I suppose it's inevitable that the club will lose young talent they've developed to League clubs (Pinnock's signed for Wimbledon), but for players to go off to the likes of Maidenhead and Boring Wood is chafing. Expect the usual triallists at training and pre-season games. No doubt Chris Kinnear has found some good players that way, but it would be great not to have to rebuild every season.

In that case, I think we have a team! Josh Passley also re-signed.
