Why can't Dover attract the same sort of crowds it did 20-30 years ago is the question. Football attendances have increased since then except it seems in Dover.

Have to be careful here or I will be seen agreeing with Ross again.
Being a loyal supporter since the 60's I do believe like any project you should have a dream of what you want to see in future years.
The club, if it is relying on support alone in it's push up the league, then over the season's the support has shown this isn't going to happen.
We even had a plea from the chair at one point stating if crowds don't improve he could walk. Nothing changed, so we move on.
I think the club should be applauded for reaching such a high level in non league football, up against far bigger full time clubs(remember still is part time)
Ambition should always be to be better.
But with it reality at how or if you can achieve this aim.
Without doubt bringing in players costs money, and Dover missed this opportunity earlier in the season when other clubs were building up there clubs for the serious run in at the end of the season.
I don't know if there is a parachute payment like in the premier(but lower amount)for clubs that get into the football league from the National league then get relegated?
I, like 600 or more others will support Dover whatever league they end up in as I'm a Dovorian supporting my local team.
Its great to see a far higher standard of football, you only have to go down league to see the standards drop.
But I also recognise as speaking with other supporters although it would be great to be a football league club, the fan base probably would be a problem, together with lack of financial backers, and being part time.

DAFC v Leyton Orient is, at this moment, the only one of tomorrow’s National League fixtures to have survived the weather. The club is currently asking for volunteers to help remove the protective covers tomorrow morning, and the Met Office is forecasting a balmy 4 degrees at kick-off. A great opportunity to show other clubs how it’s done and to leap back into the play-off spots with a win.

The game today was postponed as Eastleigh's pitch was waterlogged. Despite this, other results mean that Dover hold on to 6th place, at least until tomorrow when Wrexham might knock them down one place if they win or draw against Chester.

DAFC 2 : 0 Macclesfield Town. Whites peg back the league leaders and hold on to 7th with an excellent win secured with two first-half goals from new loan signing Keanu Marsh-Brown.

A good win in difficult conditions and a nice mention/quote from our very own Neil Moors on Radio Kent match commentary.

It appears that Qatar has made its name on Radio Kent as well as hosting the 2022 World cup.

My fingers and toes have just about thawed out, it was so, so cold today. A really good performance from the new fella and a well disciplined all round performance from the team.

Ha ha, glad you caught it, John. Matt Gerrard and I have been friends since school, so always gives me a shout out. Currently pondering the idea of coming back for the Tranmere and Ebbsfleet matches, but now we have KMB - possibly holding that back for the playoffs

We was going away for the weekend hotel booked etc lost £100 because we did not go ,but so glad Dover won against a very good club, but I do not understand why Dover play well in some match,s and bad in others ,Yes the odd match that can happen but Dover will have bad match.s about 3 after each other and against much smaller clubs, and then like the one this week pull in out of the bag great win,but if Dover is to go up next year they must play better overall .

Have to say that I agree somewhat with Vic’s sentiments re Dover’s performances, but it now looks as though the latest squad additions have done the trick and sparked new life into us. Shame it didn’t happen before, but I guess you can only get the players in that you want when and if they become available, unless you have limitless money to splash of course which we don’t.
Yes Neil, it was good to hear you get a mention yesterday. I’ve only briefly bumped into Matt Gerrard once but he always comes across as a decent bloke, which I’m sure he is!
Afraid I wimped out of that game unfortunately simply due to the weather so took to the radio instead, but I’m sure that I heard Matt say that the temperature at Crabble ( no doubt due to windchill ) was -9! No wonder he said that he couldn’t feel his toes etc!:
Fingers crossed that it’s a play off match that you next come back for!

Three oldies who stand near me didn't turn up either, sure there was quite a few like that. Plus the rugby being on too.

Great result
We are all critical of the manager tactics but at end of season he always appears to get Dover into good positions.

Barrow 0 : 0 Dover. Whites hold on to 7th with a draw against the Cumbrian strugglers, but lose ground to a number of winning clubs above them.
