  Fascinating ones Ed...
  
  The regular visitor Costa Romantica or NeoRomantica is in today...looks fab out there on the very blue very flat sea. Pic in a moment taken just a few minutes ago. But first another shot of the Eendracht as she left the harbour in the dying rays of the hot sun the other evening...she was actually shimmering in the heat. Can you believe it...yes its Dover we're talking about.

  We have already shown quite a few of this one.
  These pictures were both taken at the opposite end of the light scale...top one late evening last rays, bottom one early morn..early rays.

  ah yes would be interested in letting cruise companies have a picture or two for a small remuneration, we can always use an injection of a few bob on doverforum...never hurts.
  
  Today we have the Saga Ruby in again..weather turning quite grey and moody now despite a pleasant start. Didnt see it coming in, already nestling at pier. I also see a another tall ship in the harbour too..a bit out of view, appears to be coloured blue and of course I can see the tall masts. Might be worth a look if anyone wants to see it.
  
  The Costa Romantica left last night in gorgeous weather. She has already been over-photographed but I couldnt resisit this one...

  Well, the last cruise ship we had in Dover was on Friday, as above. The next few days are shipless until Thursday2nd August, when we see two cruise ships in Dover, the Saga Sapphire TR and the Ocean Princess TR.
  
  Another two ships follow on Friday3rd, Saga Quest for Adventure TR and Costa NeoRomantica TR+PoC.
  
  The Braemar was due to be here on Saturday but is, as we know, at the Olympics.
  
  Then on Tuesday 7th, we see the Black Watch TR. No ships Wednesday and Thursday.
  
  On Friday10th August we see two more, Ocean Princess TR returns and the Ryndam TR.
  
  Saturday brings the Costa NeoRomantica back, TR+PoC, with no ship on Sunday12th

  Yes indeed that list very useful. All quiet again today...just the fully laden container ship Star Service moving across the harbour as i write...just arrived at a guess. We have a much lower profile successful container ship element to the harbour...it just gets on with it daily without any ballyhoo.
  
  That list of cruise ships above just has the usual ones, am always hoping for a star liner to appear and blow us all away. Southampton seems to be grabbing all the bigger ones these days.
  
  ADDED bit : just come back to add pic of container ship as I mentioned it above there..ah shure why not as all quiet otherwise.

  There seems to be a strong breeze today just outside the harbour..this one as per Colette's schedule above should be the Saga Sapphire, unable to get in as of yet and sheltering off Deal as I write. Another bit of a blow, even on a relatvely pleasant day some cruise ships cant enter. This isnt a huge one by any means.

  The Saga Sapphire also made it into harbour in the end. But passengers were waiting for a long time just off Deal..but all's well that ends well.

  I have just heard that the Sapphire has a cracked cylinder head which is probably why it was sheltering off Deal. Apparently it will take at least eight hours to repair or maybe more depending on the extent of the damage. If all goes well it should be ready to leave Dover about 20.00 hours.

  Good to see 'em from that angle Ed. Officer under training..interesting, you have to start somewhere might as well make it at the deep end! The Saga Sapphire has gone...I think she was there earlier this morning but since left, so whatever mechanical problem she had must have been fixed but with the obvious long delay. She was there late into the night for definite.
  
  Costa neoRomantica is arriving just now and looking good. No need to photograph her again as just check back...most photographed ship around here!

  Saga's Quest for Adventure came in late yesterday. Photograph above taken through drizzle with the Costa neoRomantica in the background.
  
  The channel last night looked to be busy with cruise ships again. Here is the Celebrity Cruises Eclipse coming in close. Possibly to give passengers a closer view of Dover and its Castle but unfortunately it doesnt stop here now. Pity. Looks terrific in full flight.
  
  I'd forgotten but I pictured this before, this ship doing the same thing coming close by a short while ago. Didnt remember that at all until I saw virtually the same picture just now that I had uploaded previously. Memory clearly not what it was !! lol

  You can see for miles and miles today. One of those rare days were visibility is so astounding you can watch ships going right over the horizon. Both sides.
  
  This one is miles and miles and miles away, just a dot on the horizon...brought closer by a zoom lens..coming from north to south.

  Our regular vistors are in today..the Ocean Princess and the Ryndam.
  But wow what a gorgeous sunny morning it is down here in the harbour..we dont get many of these..the sun is splitting the sky and all's right with the world. The seagulls are chirriping and the sea is calm and very blue.
