The Last Post!

Yes PaulB, #600, it is indeed mostly all over now for cruise calls in Dover so here they are ................

On Friday, 5th October, the MSC Lirica, PoC, cruises back into Dover for the last time this season. She was last here on April 19th.

Then on Saturday, 6th October, we see the Braemar, TR.

No cruise ships then until Monday 15th October when we once again see the AIDACara, PoC, here for the last time this season.

The Braemar returns again on Saturday, 20th October, TR.

Completing the October schedule on Tuesday the 23rd October, will be the Black Watch, TR.

The last three cruise ships will arrive in Dover in November.

They are the Black Watch, TR, on Thursday the 8th November, the Braemar, TR, on Saturday the 10th November and the last one this season will be the Black Watch once again on Debark Only.

That's it for this year folks, I have enjoyed listing the cruise calls for everyone

8 in october/november seems rather a lot colette, i am sure that we don't normally get so many this late in the seaso.

There were seven last October/November Howard so I'm guessing eight this year is probably right

When the Nautica left by the Eastern Entrance yesterday, she was accompanied as usual by the harbour launch which took the pilot off but the police RIB also went out, seen here returning afterwards.

Yes indeed fab pictures there Ed. I havent seen them until now as have been distracted elsewhere.. !!
Those pix are great to see and in the new size too...they are right in the teeth of the action. Love 'em !

I thought this thread was more or less over for the season, exhausted and fagged out.. but no...a very sleek looking ship has just arrived and here she is. It was obviously running late but I knew something was coming because there was a whole brace of coaches waiting for it since early, including the three local blue double decker tour buses. But the gales in the channel have slowed her down..clearly she was battling down from the fjords or somewhere. The MSC Lirica..all the passengers are on the decks..clambering to get off, to get their feet on dry land... !! lol..

Wow! these new sizes for the pictures are excellent.

The ship has just done a complete 180 turnround inside the harbour and is reversing in as we write.

By the way...just to draw attention to the great new feature "CHANNEL TRAFFIC" at the top of the page. See the strip at the tip top of pages...great thing and we have it right here to use.

Agree, the photos are great in this new size, love the shots above

This is her final presence here this season, It's her third appearence only, the last two were in April.

Apart from the final visit of the AIDACara this month on Monday 15th, we will only see the faithful Fred Olsens starting with the Braemar tomorrow, see schedule above for the rest #602

i think there was a cruise ship in today, but visibility was very bad even at mid-day.

Yes the Black Watch sailed away yesterday with 750 passengers on board, some were concerned about the weather conditions they would encounter around the Bay of Biscay She returns here on Thursday November 8th and finally returns to Dover again on Thursday November 22nd to debark only.

On Saturday November 10th the Braemar returns to Dover for the last time this year.

Lovely sunny pic of the Black Watch above Howard

750 passengers sailed off into the sunset yesterday for its last cruise of the year from Dover. She cruises back into Dover on Thursday 22nd to debark

Tomorrow, the Braemar arrives back to Dover for the last time this season to also debark.
