Can someone answer me this. If I chose to carry on putting my rubbish in black sacks in my "old fashioned" dustbin, but take it to the council tip myself, is that allowed? If it is then that is what I will do.
With only two of us at home now I don't get too much rubbish and having recently had a water meter installed I don't intend to waste water by washing out all my cans and bottles etc. I will recycle as I did before but not their way, I don't want these awful bins stuck in front of my house.
So can I do it my way?

good point about the water jacqui, we are told this is vital and not to be wasted, also we are charged for how much we use.
the second point you raise is more complicated, you can do this at the moment but it has been mentioned on another thread that the tip will be charging users in future.

Thanks John, maybe I'll become a flytipper if that happens
Not really but I bet a lot of people will.

He retired over a year ago John lol
He's ok but can hardly walk now which frustrates him. He can still drive an automatic and goes out in the car but he gets very bored. He wishes he was back at work with all you lot, he misses it all. A few of the lads keep in touch and take him out for an Indian sometimes which is nice. Thanks for asking John

Why waste water, wash the tins and bottles after washing up that is what I have done for years, it is not as if they have to be sparkling just no food residue left in them.

Any one thought about the other down side of these Daleks?
Would you want to buy a house with all of these things stuck outside.

Well here on London road we are into the second week of the new bin regime and most of my neighbours are still putting black sacks out - bin men DID NOT collect them yesterday, but they had gone when I got back today which suggests a second truck had to come out...

The new sport around town is giving the green food bins a swift kick when passing by. It had happened to ours on average three times a week since we have had it. I have a good mind to fill it with concrete.
