Very little info in London Road except to say that we won't be getting email reminders about recycling any more. I assume we just carry on as usual.

In Salisbury Road we do not get ours until mid November.

We have been recycling all our plastic that has the logo for a while and it has gone.
Our tins go to the air cadets in Albert Road which they sell for their funds. If you are interested in helping Louise at Mascarada Fancy Dress can tell you all about it.

Don't have the new bins down our street yet. Spotted a stack at the back of the Dover Marina Hotel about 3 weeks back.

have to say got ours and alhough iv studied it and now understand it, its very complicated and im saure not everyone will follow it all.
got all our bins and was the first week last last week
total cock up
they changed our collection from the thursday to the friday
then collected the recycling but left behind the general rubbish
even though the councils owmn newsletter was clear that we would get both collections on the friday.
i made 2 tel complaints and e mailed the council(no replies to any complaints)
the problem is not just the non collection which is bad enough but also that this gives anb indication when bins left out that we are not in as we work all day
roger/sheila/nigel/gordon/ and any other cllr looking please take note

To be frank I have not followed it and have no idea exactly what is meant to be happening. All I know is that the whole thing is being made more absurdly complicated and I simply do not want to play.

I couldn't agree more with you Barry. These bins are going to make the town look more like a third world country. Recently I passed through London and all along the streets are lines of bins outside people's properties.
A new trend is occurring - conspicuous recycling.

There is nothing wrong with the bins,it is alot better then the black bags some of you put out and then the birds get to them, where there are bins there is alot less rubbish in the roads, true some town house can not use them because they have no where to put them, and there are cases of the older members of the public etc, but the council will help in anyway it can all you have to do is phone,If we had all got dustbins, which only cost a few pounds there would not have been the need to have bins in the first place and like myself I am out when the binmen come but my mate from next door always puts it by the back gate and I do the same for him.

With the likes of Jan H and Victor the teething problems should be short lived.
The main thing to keep in mind is that Recycling IS worthwhile on the whole, but it is first and foremost an issue for people to deal with with the assistance of the Council. It is a mistake to think of this as happening TO you, this whole thing is done FOR you and the environment;locally and globally.
Why not seek to innovate rather than complain?

We got our new bins last week, our old bins disappeared from outside the house on same day, don't know what happened to them, either someone took them or they were taken away by the council
Started the new regime this morning, the calender of dates they supplied with said new bins had the day of the week, Thursday, outlined in Green and the following week blocked in green. There was no accompanying explanation as to what it all means so opted for normal rubbish and food waste this morning which was collected and I guess I will opt for recycle stuff next Thursday and see what happens
We are lucky that we have a space inside gate to store the new bins so they are not an eyesore to the environment

Just look at the calender it shows you when to put out and what bins to put out in which week.

We have got ours in Whitfield. I can't see much of a problem, as Vic says, look at the calendar provided and all is revealed. I put out our food caddy out on Wednesday but as I only had a small amount of unrecycled rubbish in a black bag I didn't bother as the bag has to go in the bin before they will take it away. I have quite a long drive and it would have meant wheeling it down to the road and wheeling it back again. It will go in the next collection in two weeks.
