i can see how this will end up, a statue will be erected similar to the burghers of calais, keith, richard and the other defiant ones featured.
the legend at the bottom will read "an important part of our heritage was lost due to their intransigence.
will be covered in egg of course.

wow H, that looks like a Dragonov sniper rifle.
That would cover Folkestone road adequately.

I had contacted a local resident who lives very close to the tram-shelter and they are very happy to have a camera fitted to their house.
I have also been to the shop in Snargate Street and inquired about cameras and their costs etc.
I sent this information to Property Services at DDC, but have heard nothing since.
I'll contact them again and also send these latest photos.

Roger, have them compare the cost of the camera against the cost of a bespoke bench please.
CCTV is no better a way of spending money than the pesent half-hearted and half-baked maintenance regimen.

I agree Tom.
I have already been advised that they have consulted with the Police and they do not recommend putting a bench seat back in there as the view is that it will attract more vandalism - I'm not sure I agree completely with that view.

What is there that confers wisdom upon the Police?
But, just in case great knowledge and understanding does come with the job, best close all the pubs and ban the motor car from the roads.

suddenly i am coming across to the idea of a bench, could be a youth shelter. many many moons ago on here we old fogeys decided that youth shelters were a no-no despite yoof wanting somewhere to "hang/chill out".
most of the vandalism seems to take place in the evening, cannot believe the youngsters using the shelter would allow scrotes to damage their second home.
