Yet another nail in the coffin .I f and I say if there are human remains on the Goodwin Sands bring them inland and give them a final resting place .Sadly when people are blown up in war sometimes their remains are never found .Dover Community will have lost out and money will not be available for the projects promised.

as your aware as a community Cllr yourself if this was your relative would you be happy for them to be removed?

yet here they are back again.

There are no "projects promised" merely suggestions that the hospitality industry will want to open wine bars, bistros etc along the front. DHB, when pressed at a meeting, couldn't say how many units they would build for these enterprises.

When DHB came with the presentation I was interested to see if they were happy in the article in the paper, asking that question they replied yes!!!
The presentation was bland but also many questions on costs etc remained unanswered.
many cllrs who would have voted with DHB had there ben a better presentation, voted against them
Although the Town councils in Deal/Dover won't change the world, and I suspect DHB will press ahead, we will have to see how much this convinces others at the end of the consultation

Last day of consultation but I suspect the MMO have already reached a decision and just preparing bunkers ready for the onslaught from the losing side.

They are certainly taking their time reaching a decision but I guess that is only to be expected unless one of their bigwigs lives in the affected area.
It really is time these kind of events, that in some cases affects peoples lives, are speeded up. I remember how long it took to get Burlington House demolished when the hotel dug their heels in.

I really feel DHB missed an opportunity
instead took much time on SOS group
then attempting to divide Deal == Dover people.
Do they really think everyone is silly?

Yes! That is why they treat the area and its population with contempt in the way they do.

Mr Waggott is not silly either, trousering around £430, 000 last year running a business with only one competitor, then only partly.

I think both Town councils are aware they are small cogs in this development by DHB but at least they could have a view and even keep DHB thinking.

Doesn't appear that they will be making a decision soon, given themselves up to Christmas or even later.

As it should be Keith without amateur interference #522 .
The MMO have ducked decisions because of local publicity pressures.
We now have bandwagon experts!! who have watched the debate joining what they perceive is the populist side.
It has not done the local economy any benefit & has the potential to undermine next phase of Town Centre development because DHB will say they can't progress to a timetable or carry on at all because of extra financial costs. No scheme or diluted scheme.
Waterfront to Town Hall regeneration including Town Team project is setback.
Town Centre shops topic on Forum will continue with gloom.
DHB have not covered themselves with glory with their recent PR attempt but the kernel of the issue was in the publicity, however badly delivered.
The MMO are the culprits for not having the backbone to make a decision -whatever it may be.
They have the evidence & should have the cojones to decide, not be afraid of a judicial review threat if they support DHB.
If they decide against, the scenario above pans out & the handwringing starts .
The best outcome this Forum could help deliver is write to MMO & insist they deliver a speedy decision & don't start another set of consultations based on rare swimming newts & bats being discovered.

I would have thought with the likelihood of MMO not making a decision until the new year DHB will have to source the next lot of aggregate from where they got the last lot or somewhere else.
