I refer o post one on page one your opening remarks, which state clearly your alliance party(which i assume you have not yet lef to join the tories)
will not/does not support any alliance candidate in any elections other than Dover town council.
This i have never had a problem with, but he question was having esablished this the alliance stood a candidate in the Disric council elections.
Theres no spin here, just 2 simple questions that for some reason you refuse to answer;
1; did alliance party support the alliance candidate in the district elections?
2; Are you David going to stand for the tories in may.?
two very simple quesions
no spin
can see no problem with howards posting either

Do you not find all this frustrating?
two very simple questions remain unanswered, so we are none the wiser.
but I do find mr h latest outburst and personal comments hard to justify.
and to say you(we)have lied, when all we have done is ask questions is beyond belief.
if this is the face of the alliance no wonder they will remain in opposition.
I have to be honest and say chris precious a forumite and alliance cllr usually will be level headed, we wont always agree but at least he doesnt throw out insults.
maybe the alliance should look at putting chris forward to do its responses.

the people of dover will read this and make their own judgement at election time.
crude unsubstantiated insults tend to hurt the person that resorts to them.

sounds like the politics of envy from you, tony blair earns his money by giving lectures, clearly he is respected all around the world hence the reason people pay him large fees.
don't forget when he was prime minister he earned nothing like as much as he would have earned doing his proper job.

23:0383390Actually I do not post a lot, mainly because I am busy doing other things, on any threads.
To make it clear, David Lloyd stood for County as an Independent not an Alliance candidate. I stood for District as an Alliance candidate but not funded or supported by them as a body. There was a change in our rules a few years ago to allow this and as I am, so far, the only one to have followed this through David has probably forgotten it.
Yes we do have meetings, these are required under law as we are a registered party. This step was taken to avoid the confusion at elections caused by others standing as Independent (labour/tory/UKIP or ban-the-whale) candidates. Our rules are strict on Alliance members not being members of other political parties so you will not see Alliance members standing for other parties at any elections. The main point in the Alliance being a party is that, we hope, our name and logo will make it clear that Dover Alliance stands for keeping party politics out of local government. We firmly believe that once members are elected by their wards to represent them in council it is those elected members that should make the decisions, based on the best interests of their electorate and the town not in line with the political interests of their party.
I hope this makes it clear I'm now going back to a good book and a hot coffee.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

16:3983594Chris
i knowthat john will have more to say, have to say had davidh said he had forgotten you stood for the alliance(and please chris you either was a candidate for the alliance or you wasnt.
not being financed by the party doesnt mean you wasnt aparty candidate
you cant get out of it that way.
the questin was of course that lovely lady who told me she no longer buys the express, stood for the tories in a district election, this goes against david h original post.
I dont know why the alliance party doesnt clearly state it is (even as indivuals) happy to stand on other councils for other political parties.
this of course takes away davids independent tag
but be honest about it
thats all i ask

18:0183605Keith me old mate I think you have run this one to death. Your questions have been answered to my full satisfaction by both David and Chris so I suggest you just drop it otherwise you will start to look a bit like what used to be called the loony left.
