The problems at Calais have taken a back step lately, inevitably with improved security there attempts are being made at other ports.

Went to Folkestone and back this morning. 7 miles of trucks queuing from Roundhill tunnel in the left lane but TAP working well with the long-suffering port police turning round trucks in the right (wrong) lane and sending them back.

Not fair Reg, they do an excellent job generally and have a very difficult time dealing with stroppy foreign drivers.

I don't disagree Peter but they don't normally have very much to do, hence regularly seeing them sat in the van at various times of day and locations around the port, one of the favourites is the end of the Admiralty.

I think the Mayor is right on this one, the police stand little chance of maintaining order only the army would be able to keep everything under control.

Something should have been done ages ago, the Calais residents must be completely fed up with the whole situation.

For the third day running Eurotunnel services have been disrupted by "migrant activity", surely the army must now be called in.

A big increase in police numbers but I think this is just a game of catch up as many more potential migrants will arrive.

Police morale must be at a low ebb with 26 of their number injured last evening.

The French are merely reaping where they have sown (or failed to do so, through their inactivity and ostrich-like behaviour).
