Presumably the old one and it was 2 churches and 1 mosque demolished, not very clever of the French in my view.

That would be too controversial Brian demolishing places of worship is that step too far. The French authorities have done it I would think to deter new migrants moving there but have effectively given out great publicity for fanatics to help with their recruitment.

Well done to the French, the ones complaining about being moved into clean and dry accommodation are only do so because their identity would be revealed.

Still wouldn't happen, can you imagine the field day the world press would have? Also the police are far better trained for it.

At least one member state(Hungary) have given the go ahead for troops to guard the borders and deal with problems.

I agree on all 3 points Brian and having worked with the French army they do bring wine to war, so they are ok in my book
As for Hungary their police are so corrupt thank goodness they've given it to the army.

As someone who passes the 'jungle' at least twice a week I have my own views on it's occupants which I will not print them here as I have no intention of defending them against those who have never been there. What I will do is praise the French police who are quite restrained under the circumstances they face. eg last Friday night several tents were ablaze and the police were protecting the firefighters from 'residents of the jungle' who were attacking them.
What people fail to realise is only photos supporting the views of those promoting discord are publicised, whereas the majority of 'jungle residents' wait patiently for an opportunity to enter the UK.

Calais is not the only port to the UK .I would use other ports.

They are Vic, I was in Belgium a few weeks ago and there is a growing population of migrants at both Ostend and zeebruge, the police are doing a good job of controlling any trouble but undoubtedly plenty are making it across here.
