We humans are a bit wimpish about a bit of cold weather, my moggy was out all night as per usual, came in this morning to shake the snow off her fur followed up with breakfast and a spruce up and was out again less than an hour.

How strange our moggy was in all night went out just before breakfast and was back in front of the fire less than an hour later!

Our two cats were in all night and needed a gentle boot up the backside half way through the morning to go and empty their bladders, they were not at all happy and were in again almost straight away.

Judging by the cars outside my house that have not moved for the last hour there must have been a collision close by.

Just walked through Deal precinct. V slippery underfoot though looks OK.
There's been a light drizzle which seems to have turned straight to ice. Be careful out there.

Just seen this........
Dover District Council
15 mins ·
Due to the rain and sub zero temperatures causing problems on the paths and roads our contractors have temporarily suspended all collections today.
Street sweeping has also been suspended and the crews are gritting paths and access to hospitals/surgeries etc.
This situation will be reviewed at noon and unless there is an improvement in conditions nothing will change. If it warms up the crews will attempt to resume service.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this causes but safety is our priority in this extreme cold spell.

A20, Roundhill Tunnel. The A20 is closed by the Roundhill Tunnel due to multiple RTC's. Kent Police are in attendance and working to help those involved as well as treat the road:

I woke up to find I had apparently acquired frosted glass front windows overnight! Everywhere looks very icy, so I've only ventured out so far to put feed out for the birds and to salt my front path. I may not get to Tesco to get my newspaper today unless it thaws a bit, which seems unlikely.

I see from the Stagecoach Twitter feed that 62 and 68 have been withdrawn due to icy roads.

I think Southeastern may be regretting the decision to run trains between Dover and Ramsgate as they are having problems with ice from the freezing rain! Last time I checked one was running 81 minutes late!

I have the frosted glass windows at the front now and the pavement outside is treacherous so I walked in the road which was clear so a bit surprising that the 68 bus was withdrawn totally. In town it is not much better for walking and would advise people to stay indoors, the temperature is supposed to rise tomorrow so shopping can wait until then.

From Southeastern's Twitter:
IMPORTANT UPDATE: There is SEVERE disruption across the entire network at the moment, with no trains running in east Kent. Please DO NOT TRAVEL at the moment - we're working with @NetworkRailSE to get things up and running as quickly as we can.
