Keith, I think that you'll find that many independent non-conformist Evangelical churches are not suffering from falling numbers either.

In terms of converson for another use, the Beacon church does have some problems owing to the damage from WWII. So it may not be foregone that it would be lovingly restored by a new owner.
As interest also, one of the war memorials we have been unable to trace was the one in St Columba. What became of it? It cannot be assumed that items will be preserved.

HM, if parking is a pre-existing problem, i.e. not one created by the conversion itself, then Planning will not countenance objections on parking grounds. Happened up my way recently with a single house conversion to 3 flats.
