Jan: I did not stand as a candidate councillor myself.
I have no support from anyone and no money to fund a campaign.
So then you think that I am forbidden ti complain about the Central Government. Well you are wrong!
That about complaining about councils is your invention, by the way.
I haven't complained about councils and councillors, Although some on here do all the time.

Alexander I have no idea what you are talking about, I am sorry to say that is nothing unusual.
You accused me of severely reproving you in post 18 I replied that is all, I should have known you would twist my words to suit you.

Jan
you are correct in the words you used
I did start this thread in the hope of explanation to Alexander.
As I recall he got it completely wrong when he blamed the closure of Christchurch church on the council,
As with all these decisions they are made by church councils, and higher up the church chain, nothing to do with local authorities

Keith, this is brainwashing!
No church can be transformed into housing without Planning consent from the District Council.
I can complain about this and protest without you telling me I got it wrong!
What you are stating is sheer brainwashing.

Jan, when Howard suggested I had insulted those who passed before us by way of my not voting, you did put your word in to boot
As for my complaining about the Government in London, it has nothing to do with councillors.
Have I ever been heard on here to criticise this or that councillor?
But I do disapprove of transforming churches into houses. Something only a Council Planning office can do.
In general, you should realise there is a Law on freedom of speech, and it does not exempt me, whether I voted or not.
Taking part in public consultations on local issues is important, in particular on issues that are important to one.
But this is not complaining. It's participating in the Community.

Jan post 24 shows I was right to raise this issue as alexander is still not following reality.
I'm going again to try to explain,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
BEFORE local councils can agree/disagree to planning applications, CHURCH COUNCILS will have made the decision
to close a church NOT THE COUNCIL.
The local council only deals with applications AFTER the church has ALREADY MADE the decision to close the church
and decided to sell the land

Keith, I learnt a while ago it is pointless trying to continue explaining anything to some people it is far easier to just let the subject drop.

The Church cannot be closed down.
It's there for all to see, standing above Dover and the Sea.
Our Church shall be victoriously standing even when the last political party has gone!
The Church is right, folks!

People won't care, Keith.
They'll believe in the Church.
No-one can prevail against this fact.
The Church is here to stay and will weather any storm against it!
People will follow the Church and not apostate political parties.

Apostate political parties are one matter, Keith.
The Church is another.
The latter is here to stay

let's take the discussion a step forward, supposing the royal family decided to get more in tune with modern british society and convert to islam, many of their subjects may choose to follow suit.
result - even more church closures.
