I'm sure Neil has been the victim of a journalist using an off-the-record quote.

Keith, DHB appear to be involved in giving expertise to other ports around the globe, such as in Taiwan. They also enjoy ministerial backing in this. So I doubt there is an issue in Government to change the DHB structure.

All of this Alexander is in the melting pot, they have failed in there privatisation bid, and im suspecting even this cobbled together govt is looking at how to move them out.

I really don't know about that, Keith. Haven't come across anything that suggests it.

The Govt. will make a decision, Keith, such as on the development of a T2, or rather, how to fund it, but there's no indication they are thinking of changing DHB, as it was never up for discussion.

Yes but, Howard, I've explained everything!
There is nothing for DPPT to say anymore. The Port is owned and run by DHB, and privatisation has been rejected.
Town and District investment is also off the table. The DfT explained this very precisely, I copied in their reply to me in regards, word for word, on some other thread.

Hi Howard, unlike some others I do not like to keep recycling old news. DPPT will have plenty more to say when the developments that are going through at the moment have reached a stage where there is something concrete to publish. Until then, what I said a few weeks ago on the other threads still holds true.
As you have noted, all appears quiet, but then the new directors have not yet been appointed, 2 in April and 2 in May with George Jenkins in September and as I said before, the Government are looking for a cooperative DHB to work with in order to deliver the mutual future for the port and this will not happen until the 'privatisation board' is changed.

Of course, at the moment, am tied up with making arrangements for DPPT AGM which will be announced in good time (date/time/venue etc.) when everything has gone out to the membership.

There is no development with DPPT, Neil.
All this secrecy, nothing to show, nothing to prove. We all know DPPT is over.

Much as you may wish and believe Alexander, DPPT is not over, very far from it. I think that, as Chair, I might be in a better position than you to know whether or not matters are progressing in the direction that DPPT is lobbying for. I run a small international business and have employees to look after, you think that if it was really all over for DPPT I'd keep on banging on about it and burning my small amount of free time working on the next stage?
No secrecy whatsoever, I have been perfectly open about what DPPT is doing at the moment and about what we expect to achieve. You say that we are not doing what we are doing and that I and other members of DPPT board are not having meetings which we are having - the secrecy is in your own head. Mind you, you also said that you would not post on any more port threads related to privatisation
There will be an AGM fairly soon, which will be announced when everything is ready for it and after the membership has been informed.
There will be further announcements and updates as and when they occur.
There is no new news today and I'll not recycle old news.

Neil, your private business has nothing to do with the Public Consultation that was on the DHB transfer scheme.
The Government has never considered the DPPT offer, and told you so then in November 2010.
And you have never presented any proof since December 2012 of any DPPT involvement in the Port of Dover.
The Consultation is over, and Dover regeneration from Port incomes is also gone.
If DPPT represented the Community, which id doesn't, the DfT or the Decision Minister would have said so.
They haven't!
