There is still a significant number of Tory nut-jobs who believe that the climate crisis is a hoax concocted by a conspiracy involving Extinction Rebellion, Sir David Attenborough and Beijing. Given the amount of money soon to be poured into green technologies by the US and the EU, I wonder how long can Sunak continue to pander to these loons.

Quite so, Ray. We're going to get a glimpse of this lunacy very soon with the NI Protocol. A deal has clearly been done with the EU that both sides are happy with, but of course - the usual suspects won't like it - because they don't want a solution. Sunak will once again pander to them, but with what? Let's see.

After a period of relative calm under Sunak, it looks like we're about to fire this thread up again.

Sunak was the safe face of the Tories, but he appears to be losing that.
Look across the floor though and see Starmers closing the broad church of Labour, and ending Corbyns attempts to stand as a Labour MP, for many one step to far .?

Starmer has offered Sunak Labour votes to get the NI Protocol done. This will split the Tories and see Johnson lurking in the background again. Will Sunak finally take on the ERG, wait and see folks...
As for Corbyn, he's not been a member for some time so no real surprise there I assume. Don't know if he was going through any appeal system or anything.

BoJo is now telling Sunak that he should continue to threaten to rip up the 'oven ready' trade deal which he himself signed, and urged the whole country to support, three short years ago. In doing so, he sides with the nut jobs in the DUP and ERG and puts Sunak in a near impossible position.
They continue to fight like rats in a sack and, yet again, the country suffers as a result.

Johnson's position is thus: I know I agreed the Protocol in the first place, and signed it into international law, but I never intended to honor it. Astonishing, even from him.

I told people in Wetherspoon's Deal this afternoon about the Government wanting long-term sick back into work but they all said the equivalent of ' I'd like to see them f**king try' and carried on drinking.

Getting some people into work not a vote winner so both major parties avoid it

Anyone seen any research that the problem we are trying to fix is real? I get the Doctors point, but I rather suspect that the majority of missing workers are EU workers that have left the country and not been replaced. Is it really 50+ rich bankers that we are short of? I doubt it.

Here's a little prediction for DEC
Tories will win a maximum of 15 seats (likely to be less)
May be some new faces and hopefully other than the two main parties

#494 on the subject of grafters you have to hand it to the Albanians (though only in cash obviously).
A few weeks ago I was told that a local f&c had been taken over by Albanians.
I walked past today to see THREE young men gainfully employed behind the counter busy not serving anyone (a bit like in the hairdressers).
Their boss meanwhile spends most of the day tucked away on a quiet table in 'spoons on his mobile talking in what I take to be Albanian - doubtless putting in potato and fish orders!
Seems to be going on in every small town throughout the country through carwashes, American sweet shops, 'Turkish' barbers and now coming to your local chippy.
Nothing to do with money laundering obviously I knew getting rid of the FOBT machines was a bad idea!

Latest?
Just quickly checked my Twitter feed. First reference to 'Albanian gangsters' relating to running migrant camps in France 16 Jan 2016.
(Earlier references to 'Albanian dwarf' i.e. Mother Theresa)
