Especially when Labour would seem to merely offer more of the same?

I think Bob I have been saying this for some time (Brian's still in denial)
That most people can see little difference between Tories and Starmer

We have been this way before?
"In 2002, twelve years after Margaret Thatcher left office, she was asked at a dinner what was her greatest achievement. Thatcher replied: “Tony Blair and New Labour. We forced our opponents to change their minds.” (Conor Burns, April 11, 2008)

Well, according to the i's 11th October frontpage, a senior backbench Tory put it this way: "Starmer may be boring but at least he’s not mad." So there you go - clear blue water, clearly.

I am fairly sure that the majority of the politically uncommitted voters are more likely to vote for a "Lightweight Tory" such as Starmer as opposed to someone like Corbyn from the extreme left.
Maybe it all depends on whether Labour voters want to regain power or shout powerlessly from the sidelines.

It appears that Kwarteng has been unchained. A bit like his infantile vision of Britannia. Oh well. Never mind. Whatever happens you can rest assured that the chain of spineless, incompetent, deluded numpties which have run this country since Cameron will continue to put themselves ahead of the national interest.

Keep Kwasi in the job. Tell everyone it's a completely different black guy. Sorted.

Astonishing incompetence. The only way she can survive this is to sacrifice Kwarteng and say it was all his mad idea (even though we know that's not the case).
Well, she sacrificed him, but no suggestion she has the first idea as to what's going on. I think she's finished.

The Press Conference was awful, never seen anything like it from a PM. Truss is toast.

Challenging times call for radical measures, so I'm interested to see that we're trying as Chancellor someone with a (failed) Paddington-like entrepreneurial bent*, rather than someone with a background in finance - as that didn't work out so well on the last two occasions. Time (as in next Tuesday probably) will tell.

I will say again the Tory members voted for her so no point in them complaining now, but if they want to retain power next election she has to go.

Better to have tried to export marmalade to Japan than tried to deport Aunt Lucy to Rwanda I say.

I realise that view on what do people really want ,
So was Corbyns views to radical?
Do we want public transport run in the interests of the public , or run to look after shareholders ?
Labour were blamed for spend spend spend
Tories have taken that over and now are borrow borrow borrow , with no real idea how they are to recoup this money .
Truss sacks the chancellor to save her own skin but really she's made herself look incompetent.
All off this going on
Meanwhile in Leicester in a by election to council in one of labours safest seats they lost seat to Tories
With labour coming third !
