I'm sure that the self appointed Chief Shroud Waver and Member for Calais Maritime will find some other opportunity for virtue signaling. Perhaps the indomitable Mr Bano will put pen to paper again to bewail the fact that 'something must be done' in one of our local papers? (though far too often one notes the phraseology of local éminence grise Mike Eddy in his missives).

It would appear that the French Police, at a high state of readiness after terrorist outrages, and stretched with the idiocy surrounding football 'supporters' behaviour, are trying to avoid being inundated with reports of stolen iPhones in Calais! (See Jude Law's recent visit!)

Personally I'd be glad I'd only met the Police Aux Frontières. The CRS would have sorted out their virtue signaling!

Most of the aid stuff that gets delivered is not wanted anyway, destroyed or set light to in due course.
The residents in the camps simply want to come here, only this morning the port of Calais was closed for a time as people were swimming around trying to get onto a ferry. I cannot see any end game as the fences seem to be doing their job yet numbers continue to rise.

The latest is that the convoy is heading for the French Embassy in London to dump the supplies with them. 250 vehicles should make it an interesting logistical exercise.

The convoy is now heading to Dymchurch, equipped with Aldis Lamps, to welcome nightly armada?
Bless!

That photo from the Captain reminds me of one where you have to add a caption. OK, I'll go first.

Clearly these are more discerning migrants opting for St Margaret's over Dymchurch.

The story gets complicated now with the two arrested and charged with people smuggling being EU nationals. Loads of empty life jackets but no evidence of migrants.
