Not weird at all considering KCC are responsible for the budget, planning and implementing of traffic entry and exit routes to and from the Port.

Wouldn't the A20 and A2 come under National Highways?
I remember when I was working on St. James, we were going to have some work to do on the A20. We had a site meeting which Port of Dover attended. When we told them we hoped to do the work in August and that it would involve some traffic management (cones, etc), PoD laughed at us.
They told us that, in the unlikely event of the works being approved by The highways department, PoD would go straight to No. 10 and tell The Prime Minister that any forthcoming criticisms about delays would be laid at her door, with the result that any approval would be swiftly unapproved

The Leader of Kent County Council has warmly welcomed news its £45m bid to the government's Levelling Up Fund to improve traffic flow to the EU through the Port of Dover has been successful.
The success of the Dover Access Improvements bid is concerned with issues in and around the Port.
If you think this money is going directly to PoD and not KCC then you haven't been paying attention.

I really don't understand the mentality that after 13 failed Tory years people still seem to think this is the best we can do in Britain. Give someone else a go and see what happens. Even the Tories don't want to win the next election because they need time in opposition to flush out all the dead wood.

I agree with that DP. Like a football team sometimes needs a relegation to get its house back in order, so the Tories need some time in opposition. The noise around Liz Truss just sums up how they are going around in circles.

Blimey. I never realised he had that much influence. I'll definitely pay more attention to his posts in future.

I'm OK with names - it's when they start changing their pronouns I start to get confused .............
