but my understanding is to make a less buerocratic (sp ) system .Commisioned by the people who pick up the peices most often ie the GPs , who can respond to local needs and wishes , identified by close active liasion with groups that represent the community they serve ie councils . This should ensure that there is less of a gap between health and social care and mean that it is more joined up , responsve and accountable . And we have been lobbying for a more joined up health and social support system for as long as I have around the services and the organisations - many many years! If we can step closer to that it will be a major achievement. In fact, I would have thought some of the naysayers on here would have been thrilled by that kind of development.
