Actually no Gary - look at the figures that is not true of the Conservative Party despite the fact that it has always inherited a deteriating economy at best or a economic disaster from Labour. No, no cherry picking at all - factual.
Chris Grayling, the employment Minister, has spoken out on the enemy to more employment.

of course chris grayling would say that
but in reality its quite different
the majority of unions are far to mellow for me, but they are there to look out for there membership.
the short term contracts for the young, even big companies are telling the govt
it's the wrong way forward

So myself and 100,000's of other miners and many more small and larger peripheral businesses were not made unemployed then?
You might not see it that way but that is because you are no expert on that conflict.
But I am.
We are still seeing the cause and effect that Thatcher and her henchmen started way back then, that truly is some legacy to leave behind.

We can return if you want to the miners strike but that is totally off-topic. They got what they asked for, for going along with the madman Scargill.

Sad to see that those here going on about unemployment have not welcomed the latest figures that shows employment is up by 53,000 and youth unemployment down by 9,000.
The credit of course goes to all those much maligned businessmen, entrepreneurs and risk takers, who are attacked appallingly on this thread as 'elite greedy pigs'.

I despair of all this playground-politics. It is as if no real people are involved at all.

It is all about people Tom... About the 53000 extra in work and those who have been much maligned who have created the jobs. And, also I must add, the measures needed to get more people back into work and to break away from the job destroying anti-aspiration policies that have been so damaging.

Howard/Tom.
That was my point; statistics can always be used but are not proof. I was not trying to drag up old conflicts.

No, I do not want return the miners' strike, with you, or go off-topic.
As I stated and you have proved beyond boubt, in #705, you are clueless to the truth.

As I recall the miners of Kent are to Arthur as chalk is to cheese.

GARYC;
Having been involved in many of the disputes(including the miners) that is a debate within itself.
Predictions are clear unemployment is set to rise up to 2015/16 reaching close to or above 4 million.
real people!!!!!!!
now i will resist from replying to barryw's misguided view on the miners dispute

You get annoyed when someone tells you, that you do not know what you are talking about, with your life's experience.
When it comes to Tax advice, you clearly are the expert and I acknowledge that fact.
I have explained the fact's to you, regarding the Kent Miners, practice what you preach.
This thread is not about the miner's dispute.

I repeat, Gary - note what you say in your signature. Perhaps you should think how personal you get. Think also about the difference between facts where expertise counts and opinion. I have an exceptionally low opinion of the striking miners for reasons I will not stray into now - nothing personal about that towards individuals though.
I am actually an investment expert and adviser, tax and economic matters are something I need to know about and keep up to date with for investment and professional reasons.
