Keith, my point was silly repetitive comments by the same people tend to get silly repetitive replies so nothing new and informative is said.
I don't read threads I have no interest in so I end up reading 99% of threads on here, it is a shame I can't say the same about the posts.

And my point was jan, that if a post was boring, and people felt this to be correct then they wouldn't post on it, and it would die, instead its up to a high figure whilst other threads are of lower number.
And you see this is more than one line, and your comments have not got you banned.
I have said before when the last time i looked there were 5 threads that had political posts on the first 2 pages,
and anyone can post on any subject, and people will make the choice to post or not to post
clear choices!!

This thread only survives because every time Reg gets a bee in his bonnet about something, he brings this one to the top instead of starting a new thread.

Still true to say political threads appear more popular just an observation

Peter, very true.
Keith, good to know you keep up to date with the other forum but sad to see you have gone back to short one liners that mean nothing.

Jan
Like i'v said so many times, it's down to each poster as to which posts they post on, or at all.
And of course with this goes ;peoples viewpoints which thankfully are very varied.
I appreciate reading some of your posts many even mean something

Keith, how very condescending of you to think so but of course you think you are so much more knowledgeable than the majority of us on here. Time for me to end this discourse it must be so boring to the more intelligent reader so I apologise to them.

Keith, I don't think Jan is being condescending. (That means talking down to people, by the way).

# 2170....from the expert.?.....don`t have a devil to put up....
Thousands of Tax cheats-including those with no previous criminal convictions-face being prosecuted
and ``jailed``as part of crackdown on evasion of Tax says CPS who estimate Tax evasion costs
£ 14 Billion............No figure has been mentioned for the avoidance `cheats`.
In times of hardship for ordinary law abiding Tax-payers it is essential we prosecute those who
evade paying Tax say the HMRC who have been given £ One Billion to tackle Tax evasion, fraud
and ``avoidance``of Tax.
Finance Johnnies will be having their collars felt........about time.
£ 14 Billion will be very welcome going into the Revenue coffers.

not exactly finance johnnies but well off people not declaring rent on properties, money collected will be a drop in the ocean.

a billion quid to hmrc must mean a massive increase in staff numbers which would be certainly needed in order to bring the "f.j's" to justice.

Avoidance is what we all do, perfectly legally, avoiding paying more tax than we need to. If you do not ensure you are not paying unnecessary tax then more fool you.
Evasion is the illegal bit and it is not just the rich and wealthy, undeclared cash jobs, undeclared tips. undeclared rent income also is not just for the wealthy or well off.
This thread remains a total farce - just a means for Reg to show off his bigotry against the successful and others he does not like.

# 2177.....para 1...90% of us are law biding and pay our tax.......are we all fools ?
para 2....the big money is with the rich and wealthy....the others are `relative petty cash but worth catching if not to expensive
to do so....
para 3...dislike successful people ?.....I am one......
.bigotry ?...from the numero uno.....

Reg - I am referring to avoidance, the legal bit so the 90% of us you refer to, including me, who pay our taxes while making sure that liability is kept to the minimum are certainly not fools.
In fact your 90% is wrong, far too many, the majority of people, are paying more tax than they legally need to and are only doing so because they lack the knowledge of our complex tax system to avoid it.
What about the pensioner I met today, a state pension, an annuity and poorly arranged savings that result in her paying an effective 30% income tax at her marginal rate. She is fortunate, she won't suffer that next year thanks to me while also getting more income.... there are lots of people like that, ordinary people. We 'finance Johnies' who you hate so much help them.
You,Reg, express the most bigoted views I have ever seen on this forum in your hatred of success and promotion of mediocrity
You successful? Define success on your terms.
