The December figures show £.3480. 00 paid to Edge entertainment consultants who specialise in corporate events for our turning on of the Christmas lights.

I have been considering sending a F.O.I request asking what Edge had done to earn the above sum but I suspect it will be passed to a PR company who would then send in a large invoice for their services.

A very expensive day although we had the lights and tree for longer.

Cost of tree. £.660. 00.
Miscellaneous traders £. 5980. 80.
Not forgetting the services provided by Edge.

I appreciate your efforts Keith but the town council website clearly states that all payments are considered and approved at their regular meetings. There was a full council meeting on the 28th November(before the event) and again 5 days ago with no mention of this but dosh was paid in December. It is not as if payments were nodded through in a zombie like fashion but monies were paid unauthorised.

You couldn't make it up! Deal Town Council, who have hired a part-time Project Co-ordinator for Cycle Friendly Deal at a cost of over £1000 a month, encouraging people to ditch their gas-guzzlers for more environmentally friendly transport, are also paying £145 to provide him with an annual car parking permit.
A case of 'do as I say, not do as I do' methinks.
