It was desperate times when T May got him back last time.
With such a big loss, nothing would surprize me if they desperately got him back in again.
As to general election, if he remains outside the party he wont get in as an indy
but I'm really not sure who would win as both major parties are struggling to get support

So what will Charlie do in the vote for an election? Will he vote with the Government for an election that, all things being equal, he'll not be the Tory candidate? Please note the significance of "all things being equal".

He's got cover thinking about it, as Government won't get the two thirds majority required - he'll be fine for now.

Don't expect on great revelations on Friday. I can't imagine that Charlie will either plead guilty or that the beak will somehow determine there's no case to answer. Crown Court sometime in the future is all that will emerge, I suspect.
Which begs the very obvious question as to what will happen in the now almost inevitability of a GE sometime later this year. He appears to have local support. And presumably his continual line-toeing has saved him from any Cummings led ("foul-mouthed oaf" to use Sir Roger Gale's rather appropriate term) cull. But what if he were to lose? Any criminal conviction can lead to a by-election given the support of only 10% of the electorate. The whip's office presumably believe he must be on some sort of thin ice to have withdrawn the whip in the first place. Does this mean we might have a new Tory representative plucked from the ranks?
Somebody must know.

So
THIS is the sum total of the allegations for God's sake!
Prosecuting, Natalie Dawson said: "In both events the complainants were sitting, having a glass of wine.
"Mr Elphicke lunged at the complainants, kissed them, and grabbed them under their bra over their breasts.
"In both of those matters both got up and moved away from Mr Elphicke."
He denies all allegations
He added that a few days later one of the women complained he had groped her in his car.
As I've said before, let him who is without sin etc .........................

That account stinks as a complete fabrication, how anyone could do that and not get a backhander beats me.
Those bras must have been very loose fitting or the "complainants" must have been quite happy with being "lunged" at.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I don't think we know enough about the full details of the case to say it's fabricated,

Charlie Elphicke
@CharlieElphicke
Bringing back duty-free would boost coastal communities like ours, which is why I have long campaigned for this. Vital to build a Brexit Britain that works for every part of our land. It's time to leave the EU and move on
Bloody brilliant from 'our' Charlie. Having moaned last week about our local roads being some of the most crowded in the country he wishes to fill them further with people buying something which HMG is trying to get people to cut down on, while also reducing tax revenue.
