Jan Higgins yes my version of the truth yes it can't go on but Boris has so many options to stop us leaving the EU without a deal
Good idea. . Newsnight’s political editor pointed out that Mr Johnson could still “cancel out” any extension to Brexit by refusing to appoint a European Commissioner which would breach EU membership and mean the UK could be kicked out of the bloc.
He said: “He sends the letter stipulated in the act requesting an extension but then he comes up with a wheeze to cancel it out.

Apparently Amber Rudd has thrown her hand in too. The unrepresentative bunch of Tory members who foisted this misbegotten crowd on the nation have a lot to answer for.

All Brexit has done so far is to show us what a self serving bunch so many of these present day MPs have become.
No loyalty to their constituents and certainly no loyalty to the party they purport to represent in Westminster.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Laughable. And perfunctory to the point of prejudice. She's stood down because she was no longer able to tolerate the poisoned dwarf of an organ grinder and his lying, blonde monkey who are currently running this country. Even her own constituency party chairman was not as mealy mouthed or presumptuous to level that sort of accusation. But never let the facts get in the way of your preconceptions, eh Reggie?

Sorrow is always a personal choice but if you talking about a moral obligation to feel sorrow then perhaps start with the party itself now riven entirely by those bent on a single goal for which they have no mandate whatsoever. Or the 5 million or so Tories who voted to remain?

Personally I think it would help if we had the Official Conservative party. Then we could move on to the Provisional Conservatives and indeed the Continuity Conservatives.

The vote in 2016 was leave or remain .It was not done on party lines. The result was to leave .Who ever the government of the day they have a duty to respect that result .Mps should respect that. You cannot keep changing the goal posts.Three years of arguing.Dreadful.

Well quite. And MPs from all parties and all splinter groups of the Conservatives voted down that which Mrs May and her team negotiated.

Respecting a result that looks like it will now lead us on a catastrophic path based upon a snapshot taken 3 years ago is crazy for the sake of it. Emerging facts and developing demographics are not changing (moving?) the goalposts. Nor can you deny people the right to change their mind over such a consequential issue.
If you believe that much in democracy by plebiscite then have a referendum based upon a choice of (a) leave with no deal which the Tory party now wants or (b) revoke article 50. It won't happen because there is so much invested in our leaving by the ultra-rights - Banks, Rees-Mogg et al. They are fearful that they would lose that argument hands down.
Even Corbyn has finally woken up sufficiently to see that. Fortunately, as things stand, there are enough politicians on one side who understand that cutting off your nose to spite your face is never a good idea.
