Another ritual humiliation for our country this evening, like the last summit our PM will give a presentation and then be dismissed. The great and the good of the member states will then have a sumptuous meal paid in part by us using the excuse that they will be discussing what happens next.
Meanwhile, in another room, our PM and her entourage will be sending out for pie and chips.

At the other end of the spectrum, here's Charlie's take on what we should do, ah, tomorrow: "Britain stands ready. It’s time our Government matched the political courage of the British people. We’ve discussed Europe for long enough. Today we should not be seeking an Article 50 extension. We should be leaving, deal or no deal."
Thanks Chas, guess we all adopted your recommended preparations then. Well done that man!

#3987 - Excellent piece by Gina Miller. Factual and logical. No wonder she's detested by knuckledraggers everywhere.

Is there an echo in here?

The good news is that I reckon I can carve stars into pumpkins far better than those witch on broomstick designs that hang on by a sliver. The bad news is that there are 27 of them.

So this sorry saga drags on and on all because of a few selfish egotistical MPs want to ignore or disagree with the referendum result.

It comes across to me that the EU are gifting the PM the time to hold a second Referendum and get the result that she and they want. Indicative votes in the Commons will never get a clear cut winner with so many options.

Macron must be seething, not only did he want an early cut off date but in the event of a long extension our MEPs having no powers in the EU parliament. Meanwhile companies on retainers will continue to rake it in without actually doing anything. EU elections will cost us about £100 million for our MEPs to sit for just a matter of weeks.

Doubt it. Hasn't even made main news in Le Monde or Le Figaro on-line.
Both France and Germany have more than enough of their own problems to be getting on with without worrying too much about whether Brexit is go or no-go.

You appear to be missing the point Bob, Macron would have loved to have facilitated a no deal exit simply because he could then deflect criticism of his leadership by blaming us for the gridlock in Northern France and the ensuing chaos elsewhere in the country. He wouldn't have kept the talks going into the early hours upsetting the rest otherwise.

How disgusting that ,thousands will be spent electing MEPs.When cuts are being made which effect so many in this country.Shame on our MPS who will not agree to disagree. Mrs May is no Magret
Thatcher.
The local elections will suffer because of the behaviour of our MPs .

Delightfully ironic, Sue. I seem to remember she was on record as saying that her 2 greatest achievements were joining the single market and getting the channel tunnel built. They were perhaps the only 2 points that I agreed with her on.
So the Tory party of David Davies, Grayling, Fox and co now lament her missing leadership?

I am talking about all the Remainer MPs who have decided what their constituents voted for was wrong.

By all accounts the Civil Service has now been told to stop contingency planning for no deal with immediate effect, whether that means cancelling stand by contracts in operation is not yet clear.
It gets better as Operation Brock is now being finished with and all obstacles/barriers are in the process of being removed.

jan, there is no right or wrong about it, mp's how there consituates voted and got with the job wether they agreed with the publics verdict. instead they formed groups in the house just to make things tough, and that's both Brexit and remain people,
