What a change mid morning today , no beggars , no drunks and only one person outside the 8 bells , Hope this continues
Hasn't there been a clear up/out....
Pubs. restaurants etc. etc..........people working illegally..(low wages)....no work permits/under age/not at school/ etc etc................a bit of a blitz I have been told.....
roamers/idlers/you name it.............. all cleared...........
In the old days they would have all been sent to Sea

not heard of any clear out, i put it down to the fact that it was an unpleasant morning weather wise.
I did think that at first Howard but my second trip out it was lovely weather and I was in town for over 2 hours and still no sightings
I'm not going to be around the town during the day for the next 7 days. Would anyone mind letting me know what its like for drunks and beggars by posting on here.? Thanks sarah

the scene this morning in pencester gardens, not a drinking person to be seen(i checked everywhere).
could it be that the police persons have ethnically cleansed the area, none in market square or the other haunts?
if so i am taking my hat off to them as i type.
just needs veolia to get all the rubbish out of the river then we will have a town centre beauty spot to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

A little cooler today, Howard, most of the 'homeless' have stayed indoors.

Just witnessed a drunk being escorted towards an ambulance and two police cars in Pencester. You just have to wait long enough!

oh well too good to last.
went into the co-op about 2.15 p.m. and i could see a group of people complete with status symbol dogs taking the air along with the white lightning.
And it was all looking so good !
It isn't so much the boozing itself - one mans lost afternoon is much the same as anothers whether it's champagne or White Lightening - it's the incontinent behaviour that goes with it for the guys in Pencester. Their intimidating, noisy, littering, self indulgent and selfish behaviour. Their aggressive, incoherent, self centred, attention seeking, goddam annoying behaviour. I had better stop there, I can feel a frenzy coming on........
Carry on Bern I agree with every word ,

i hear there is going to be a new game show is being staged in pencester gardens.it's being called [dont laugh] drunks on a pole.
the game is easy to play,a large pole will be placed in a central postion with bungie ropes attached.the beer/cider drinkers will be attached to the bungie ropes, the bait will be a 6 pack of beer/cider.as you well guess the idea with the 6 packs only just out of reach, but they get lucky and grab a 6 pack a copper will confiscate the 6 pack and proceed to empty the cans.a win win ending.
