Come gather round all ye street tipplers of Kent
with yer Nike's 'n' shell-suits 'n' elbows bent
Come now 'n' join me 'n' give forth with one voice
to praise the white cider, our tipple o' choice...
Nah!
Singin' is borin' 'n' I don't give a whit
just give me a pound, I need more of it
[if only they stuck with Kent's own, Rough Old Wife]

On a less lyrical notes. Two loudly abusive drunks 11 am on the benches by the town hall.

not usually a part of town that our favourite imbibers gather.
Its become more popular recently Howard , probably due to the warm welcome they recieve from our Law enforcement agencies, must make them feel at home
I didnt make it further into the town so I didnt see any of the beggers today . I am going to write to the licensing officer at Dover council about the behaviour of some of the customers at the 8 bells . I understand that the pavement seating area dos not belong to the 8 bells but to the council and they can stop its use .
That will scatter them all around the Town.....
The 8 Bells can have 'em.............the no-smoking ban has put everyone outside a pub, if it does not have a garden......
Its your choice to write in support of the 8 bells Charlie , its my choice to register a complaint
The question is: why can't they just behave themselves and if they want to be obnoxious do it in private or at the back of a pub that gives a damn.
Neatly summed up Bern , thank you
2 drunks in the high street about 1pm

much more fun in pencester gardens at 2. 25 p.m.
a group of 5 and 2 groups of 3 were having a merry time, a bottle was despatched overarm into the river in a style that may have impressed any watching england test selector.
there was a bench free of imbibers but clearly had been vacated recently.
Stunning photo Howard.

I tried Special Brew once, it tasted like varnish. I only bought it because it had a free t-shirt, which I still wear!

could be worth a few bob now terry, avid collectors from the bail hostel would pay a good price.
Just don't give them your home address...........
Seriously, why should our town tolerate that clearly habitual behaviour - it's not as if we don't know where they will be and when. A bit of a concerted push by the coppers could see them off - and again from where they try next. Some towns manage to put this behaviour down as much as possible, why can't we?

Bern
it can only be because no-one has asked them to do this. According to the photo of the police stall on the Community Safety thread it seems that if you ask the police to do something they then go ahead and do it!
I did ask them Mark and got the answer that " We dont know where they are " hence starting this thread.
I was in Canterbury today for 4 hours , no Drunks , no beggars such a refreshing change ,
