Well understood in the world of cross channel freight movements. Nobody seems to agree exactly what the consequences might be. Eurotunnel are prepared though (or so I'm reliably assured!)

Yes, interesting times. I would've thought that the uncertainty applied more to inbound traffic; I confess I haven't bothered to keep up with the UK's Border Operating Model, so I don't know what happens when EU goods approach the Straits travelling under the EU's export regime, which ends at the French coast (ie doesn't get you out of Dover or Cheriton so far as I'm aware).

Not causing TAP but social media is reporting the French are now refusing entry to Brits returning home to their house in the EU if it's not in France!

Combining this and the Brexit thread for just a second, it seems that the real impact of being a "Third country" is just starting to show, one year on.

I think there are to many shipping companies now running into Calais we are not doing the amount of
business as we did when we was in the EU and then we now have less passengers and cars also .

I've lost the plot here, but does furlough still exist?

I'm confused too. There is no current provision to furlough staff as far as I'm aware.

I find it hilarious that some people think Rishi Sunak invented Furlough. Its been around for a long time and the pandemic has probably reminded many HR personnel that its a tool in their arsenal.

Dover’s loss from French transit ban. Will be using Portsmouth/Bilboa for my next journeys. Cost for cost savings on fuel /tolls/ hotel/ ferry fares not much difference. Just local convenience to start trip.

Definitely lots of slow M20 traffic. Make what you will of the conspiracy theories!
