1. a couple of dozen demonstrators sit down at bottom of Jubilee Way.
2. Disagreement between DHB Police and Kent Police on who is responsible.
3. After over an hour a stroke of genius. Traffic sent round other side of roundabout which is not being blocked.
4. Mr Plod, having finally sorted out who will process demonstraters actually remove them.
5. Dover traffic reverts to 'normal' chaos.
6. Hundreds of Plod fill in overtime/subsistence claims.

Normal except for the panic fuel buying. You can't into Tesco at the moment

Don't care. Just filled my narrow boat with red diesel at 80p/l.
Every time I fire up the mighty Lister SR2 apparently a baby polar bear dies.
CO2 shortage? I'm doing my bit.

These so called protesters are not the only idiots causing traffic problems out there look at those idiots who have caused the petrol shortage. I have just read the following but thought it was not worth starting a separate thread......
BE KIND NOT STOPID!
Have been pretty calm and quiet for a long time but today my patience was tested at my second home where I spend most of my time... BP petrol station.
2 hours waiting queue blocking the main roundabout and causing extreme distractions for the traffic...
I went out to investigate and to learn disastrous truth of how media got to peoples brains
- and A&E nurse who after an hour of queuing went on complete red and stopped on the roundabout in tears as she was empty begging for petrol so she can get to work ... 10 cars in front of her with majority having 3/4 of the tank and explaining that they either need it just in case or as one barbie girl who was giving me mouthful was trying to say that she must go to see her friends in London although she was almost full too...
Is this bloody real ?
- 5 cars further I find single dad who is queuing to try to get fuel for the morning to get his 5 year old son to the hospital for chemotherapy
- I am not mentioning 2 ambulances who can't get through blocked roundabout by lorries to get to the pumps
- Tanker truck stuck there as well for almost 30mins to actually deliver fuel they need
- Elderly couple who filled up little fiesta and shaking from fear trying to put more petrol in the bucket afterwards
So ....please don't ******* cry if you queue in the hospital as nurses and doctors can't get to work, don't cry when the electricity will go off and no one will be able to get it sorted as they couldn't get any fuel, don't cry because you thought you needed it just in case ...
We have 3 fuel tankers a day, we have more than enough but because you are behaving the way you did with toilet paper last year you are gonna regret it.
There is no shortage in fuel, its the stupidity you follow caused by media but if you carry on and by blocking the whole town/city where amongst yous are very needed key workers you will definitely pay the price very soon
We prioritise key workers and emergency services but if they can't get to us then you will learn soon.
I am glad that my recent therapies calmed me down a bit but I seriously almost lost it today when I questioned the people out there queuing
Forwarding this on..... I copied and pasted x thank you ......

Well I don't think I'd be perfectly calm about a bucket of petrol myself, although, to be fair, perhaps their bath was full of coal.

Just goes to show that the mess this country can get in due to social media and poorly worded TV reports, along with ministers saying "there is no need to panic"......
Everyone will argue they NEED their car, but many when they actually think about it, if they live in Dover, could walk to get food, get on buses or trains to get to work. It just is convenient to get in a car, but in many cases, it's not always needed for short periods of time.
For example, I could walk to a bus stop or Dover Priory and get buses and trains to work, working shifts it would mean my journey going from 25 minutes to anything between 1 and 3 hours, and I'm a critical worker! It would be a pain in the backside, but I could, and may end up having to do it if it doesn't get any better.
(Please don't start quoting what about disabled, elderly, care workers, nurses etc etc etc, I know there will always be people that need a car, I'm just saying many can adjust if they can be bothered)

And think of the health benefits if the school run became, well, a run!

At the risk of sounding like a real old fart, but my "school run" as a secondary student was, walk 15 minutes down the hill from my parents house, wait for a bus that sometimes never came, then when one did, travel in rush hour traffic for up to an hour, then walk for 50 minutes to get to my school.
My daughter went to secondary school in Dover, five minutes walk from my house and she was always asking me for a lift! (she only got one if I was going that way at the time!)
Modern times..........

I see the climate activists are at it again.Blocking the road at Dartford.Stupid ignorant people. Some people have to travel miles to keep the wheels of industry turning. If supplies cannot get to factories with much needed Machinery parts etc and servicing of machines then the work force suffer and jobs are at risk .We need the wheels of industry to keep turning. The laws in this country at times are farcical .Where are the Politicians with back bones .Seems Some could not organise a P!,,in a brewery .
