charlie should be doing the wriggling, he should say clearly that he is against the development but there is no chance of stopping it.

'very long answer on my views on grammar schools.
and the labour parties stand on it.'
Personally I am in favour of Grammar Schools AND my children have gone to them.
I wonder how others (including our previous MP) cope with the dichotomy?

I have not misquoted you at all, you did not, when I challenged you, provide a quote at all.
I do not know when you gave a 'very long answer to grammar schools' but it was not then.
I am puzzled why you would have to give a 'very long answer'
Why could you just say simply - 'yes I support Dover's grammar schools' or 'no I dont support Dover's grammar schools'. Sury a SHORT answer like that would be all that is required. You have, perhaps proved my point about political double speak when you referred to your long answer.
Howard - there you go again, trying to justify your misinterpretation by saying he should have said this or that. He said what he said, full stop, it was perfectly clear.

14:3879109Just been annouced on bbc south that charlies proposal was unrealistic, and far harsher words.
When charlie was questoned about the share cost was more likely to be
£5,ooo than £10 to buy out all the port
charle agreed and added yes people can, like buying a house take out a mortgage?????????

14:4379112I did not hear what you heard Keith.
Is it the Port you are talking about?
If so I suspect you have got rather confused and did not understand what was being said.
The Trust would indeed be taking out a loan 'like a mortgage' to buy the Port. No doubt a comment in respect of some twerp trying to suggest that the public share issue would be used to buy the Port. That has never been the case.
I wont go into further explanation on this - it has been done to death on another thread.

14:4579114Keith - do you know what a quote is? please find out.
To say yes or no to Grammars does not take a long answer unless you are trying to fog the issue.
So then Keith - do you support keeping our grammars? - its takes only a yes or no answer....

15:0279115As stated I gave a long reply on grammar schools
and it would take a longer answer than yes or no

15:0879117Keith, was hoping that you would have come back with a reasoned argument.
Presumably our ex-MP used the grammar school system since he was outside the catchment area for Brompton Oratory?
Do you spell 'hippocracy' with one or two 'p's.

16:2979133Nice one, Bob. Presumably a hippocracy is a system of government where the horses are in charge? Or asses, perhaps. The rest of you, stop being nasty to each other or I shall report you all to Teacher.
