Well he's right in one respect Howard, but if Milliband had suggested a wealth tax Reg would be cheering.
He attacks the man not the ball

well on and this goes, getting back to the thread title.
the tories are clearly divided both within there own partyo , but also of course the lib dems are still seething over the tories ditching agreement on the house of lords.
Cleggy is now seeing the light(far far to late)and threatening to rebel on the boundary changes.
two years, i reckon we will see no party in control of the country
(not much difference to today lol)

Was going to open a thread on the Deputy Prime Minister's proposal for a temporary tax on the super-rich, but then discovered it has been brought up here.
The proposal is certainly a step in the right direction.
Unless the super-rich start paying more money to the Treasury, the national debt will not be reduced, but will continue rising.
Labour clearly have not distanced themselves from T. Blair's policies of super-capitalism, which allowed the super-rich to drain masses of financial wealth from the economy while sponging the economy into bankruptcy.
One doesn't have to be a LibDem to applaud Nick Clegg's proposal that the stink rich pay up.
Sky News reports:
"Senior Tory backbencher Bernard Jenkin attacked the idea, and said Mr Clegg's proposal could 'strangle the goose that lays the golden egg'."
Here it is appropriate to note that the super-rich have strangled the economy and gobbled up all the golden eggs, and keep doing so, so soon as we the working people lay them!
Bernard Jenkin then went on to make the very silly remark:
"I think most rich people are contributing far more in tax than other people."
What can one say: if someone has tens/hundreds of millions of pounds in private assets, they are likely to pay "more tax" than someone on £6.13 an hour!
It's about time Dave Cameron broke clean with this sort of bank-benching drivel from some Tory members, and paid more attention to working with the Deputy Prime Minister to make sure the stink-rich pay up!

Not only trouble at Mill for Osborne,it`s trouble in his backyard as well.
Not only do 48 % of voters want him to move out of No 11 and 44 % of Tory voters
think he not doing a good job,the Tories in his backyard cannot clear their `deficit` or
`debt`and may be closing down at Christmas ! ! !
Ofcourse deficit and debt are different entities.....but they are both debt arn`t
they...........
Osborne has a cash crisis in his `temporary` residence and back home as well.
Nationally Tory membership has slumped between 130,000 and 170,000 from 300,000
and there are fears it will soon fall below 100,000....some of the biggest falls are in
the constituencies of Buffoon government Ministers.
Cameron and Ossie are not popular in and out of Westminster...........

Reg, you are so confused with the difference between debt and deficit that you tie yourself in knots.

Light relief from the Guardian...............
Osborne: Sorry to bother you when you're on hols, old boy ...
Cameron: Don't worry about it, Ozzy. I'm bored down here in Cornwall. Two years ago there were photographers following me everywhere. This time round there was just one agency bloke to snap Sam not talking to me in the pub. Anyway, enough about me, how are things your end? Glad to see you managed to stay out of that photo with Harry in Vegas. I guess you must have been a bit tied up ...
Osborne: Very funny, Cams. Thing is, I've had a number of people asking whether we're going to give back the £400k that Asil Nadir donated to the Tory party now that he's been convicted ...
Cameron: It's an awfully bad line. The mobile reception is terrible in this neck of the woods ... Anything else?
Osborne: Just the opinion polls.
Cameron: That's better! You're as clear as a bell now.
Osborne: Everyone hates me and thinks I'm doing a terrible job.
Cameron: Oh, stop feeling sorry for yourself. You're exaggerating terribly. It's only about half the population that thinks you're the most incompetent chancellor the country has ever had. Under the circumstances, I'd say that was a result.
Osborne: It's always good to chat to you, Cams. You've such an incisive brain ... But you do promise that you're not going to reshuffle me, don't you?
Cameron: How many times? Stop being so bloody paranoid. Of course I'm not going to reshuffle you! If I did, the punters might start to question whether I knew what I was doing with the economy. Besides, I can't think of anyone in the cabinet who would do any better. None of us has a clue what's going on.
Osborne: And you're definitely not going to promote any Lib Dems ...
Cameron: Good God no! Certainly not to anything important. The one good thing to come out of the coalition is that the Lib Dems are finished for ever and I intend to make sure it stays that way.
Clegg: Hello everyone! Remember me?
Everyone: Summer's over.
Clegg: I'm going to ask Daddy to tax the rich lots and lots.
Everyone: Is this guy terminally stupid?
Cameron: Yes.
Tim Yeo: Are you a man or a mouse?
Cameron: Squeak!

Cabinet Ministers are refusing to budge in reshuffle.
Baroness Warsi,Ken Clark,Justin Greening,Jeremy Hunt ...all are wanting to keep their
jobs.
Vince Cable will not budge unless he is made Chancellor of the Exchequer..............
and we have a ``bumbler``and a ``mouse``running the country...

Egg all over Reg's face yet again. You really should resist jumping the gun to have daft digs. #231
First info about the reshuffle is the departure of Clarke from Justice and Warsi from the co-Chairmanship. A good start

Hunt and Greening leaving their jobs so that makes a clean sweep... more egg on Reg's face.
Cable, of course, is not in Cameron's gift as a LibDem so sadly that incompetent is likely to remain but we can hope Clegg sees sense and replaces him with Laws.

At least we agree on the cobbled together govt and the lib dems
and now we appear to have acceptance that the tory party is lurching to the right

Lurch?
No - doing what is necessary to get some quality ministers into the government. We need a right wing government but sadly with a coalition this is not possible.
