So how many posters come to see the Full Council meetings ? And that wouldn't tell them anyway, it's being on the inside that you know whether there's a whip or not and as I am a Conservative Councillor, I know there is not a whip.

Roger is unaware that he is being whipped.........must enjoy it too much....

Especially Scrutiny Committees....they were responsible for adding to the delay of
building our Hospital. The `Whip`was so evident on these occasions,we had two senior
conservatives making such ill-informed statements such as `` I have never seen a
puddle in Maison Dieu 2 inches deep``and ``All we need to do is clear the drains``
when evidence was in front of them the site was on a flood plain.
The whip was responsible for a unanimous vote to let the HOSPITAL be built on Maison
Dieu.....it took two more years to obtain official rejection of the Maison Dieu site.
We need free thinking people making decisions not the whip system........

Osborne has put his foot in it again.
Conservative MP`s of the Shires and Rural groups campaign to protect the Green Belt
as Osborne plans to use it for Houses to kick start the desperate need for
Economic Growth....panic has set in...
Earlier in the year Shire MP`s achieved making Greg Clark,Planning Minister insert
such caveats to safeguard the Green Belt....another double `U` turn....
However Grant Shapps,Housing Minister,soon to be Chairman of the Conservative
Party,after Gove rejected it,is in favour of building 80,000 Houses on the greenbelt.
Add to the renewed move to build a third runway at Heathrow...another `U`
turn...Cameron will be forced to remove Justine Greening,Transport Minister,as her
constituency is under the flight path and she is aggressively against the plans.
This then puts Greg Clark,Planning Minister,and Eric Pickles,Communities Minister,in
the firing line as they oppose building on the Green Belt.
Add to that the Lib / Dems are also opposed and plan to make an opposition motion at
their Conference next month.........trouble at Mill at the top....

Cameron are you ``a man or mouse``asks Tim Yeo senior Tory MP regarding
Heathrow third runway.
In a stinging attack he asks the PM do you want to preside ``over a dignified slide
towards Insignificance``and ``is your heart impenetrable to most voters``.
Boris,who wants an island airport, also attacks Cameron with ``stop pussyfoot around
on expansion and growth``....matters are building up against the PM.
If he chooses a third runway at Heathrow several Cabinet Ministers will receive
`bloody noses`
...trouble at mill continues...

A typical article in the Press today.........will a stalking-horse be forthcoming?
```Is David Cameron a man or a mouse? That's the question posed by Tory MP Tim Yeo, who ostensibly is making a strongly-worded argument about the third runway at Heathrow.
But really, his article in the Daily Telegraph is far more interesting than that.
Firstly, why should we care about Tim Yeo?
Well, while nobody could call him a Cameroon, he's not a "usual suspect" either. Mr Yeo is a former minister and the current chair of a select committee. He is a serious figure on the Conservative backbenches.
Mr Yeo's position on Heathrow Airport is also very telling: he used to be against the idea of a third runway. Now, it seems, the environmental assurances have been put in place that make him think it's a good idea.
But, clearly, it can't be a make-or-break issue for him if he was against the whole idea not so long ago.
That begs the question: why make the outburst at all? Why time it during the parliamentary recess when it's bound to get the maximum amount of coverage?
The answer to that question lies in the Prime Minister.
Putting Heathrow expansion to one side, what is striking is the venom with which Mr Yeo openly talks about David Cameron.
"The Prime Minister must decide whether he is a man or a mouse," he writes. "Does he want to be another Harold MacMillan, presiding over a dignified slide towards insignificance?
"Or is there somewhere inside his heart - an organ that still remains impenetrable to most Britons - a trace of Thatcher, determined to reverse the direction of our ship?
"An immediate go-ahead for a third runway will symbolise the start of a new era, the moment the Cameron government found its sense of mission."
Let's look for a moment at what these words imply:
1. The Prime Minister is sliding towards insignificance
2. His heart is impenetrable to most Britons
3. He is not like Margaret Thatcher
4. His government has no sense of mission
Expanding Heathrow Airport is clearly a prickly subject for the coalition government. But what David Cameron must tackle as a matter of urgency is the disrespect of his backbenchers.```
reg;
cameron has a lot to think about;
his back benchers are now happy to bring him down by there slow drip drip
to slowly get him where they want him
the lib dems will be another thorn for, he still has to try to hold them in place, agreement on the lords reform has upset the lib dems, and they are also happy to come out in public saying the co-olition wants last if agrements cant be kept.
then k clarke doesnt want any reshuffle in the cabinet to move the party further to the right.
so much going on
After 2 years of the inequality of this government`s policy of who pays off the Deficit
the Prime Minister Nick Clegg has decided the rich and wealthy should now pay a
``fair share towards reducing the Deficit......he now says fairness is essential! !
!.......Social Conscience....nah......his Poll rating is at it`s lowest level......
This will `upset `the Tories but he does not stop there,he confirms they will not
support the Tories bounary changes.
When will politicians think of the nation and not their personal standing?..........never...
Reg, as I have suggested before and Peter confirms above, you seem very confused about the debt/deficit situation.
I'm no fan of Clegg but surely if he wants the wealthy, whoever they are, to reduce the debt surely that indicates he has a social conscience.
i think reg is right here, i don't see any current politicians doing anything other than watching their own backs and trying to look good in the media.
