Of course you can't Peter, I've never suggested anything else.
That is not my point, which is ALL DDC have done at Buckland Mill is give the go ahead to developers, despite the Chairman jumping up and down excitedly

Spoilt your own argument there, lots of homes with lots of people living in them.

all about results, seeda had the site for many years and their only achievement was putting up an attractive sign declaring us a world class region - we now have a very nice looking housing development so ddc will crow.

Vic, if you have lots of cash you buy the new houses and then rent them out, you don't have to live there. Seems like another window of opportunity being opened to make a bit more lucre!

Do nothing and nothing happens.

But 6,000 houses is way too many for Whitfield.
It makes my blood boil that we have to keep concreting over the countryside largely because we let immigration run out of control. Whitfield must never become a town, or even a drab suburban carbuncle.

Too late, Andrew. It's already the latter, it'll become the former within 10 years.

Post 49 You are right sir.
Mr Garstin.
As a member of that council It will only happen if the sale of houses get sold off in the phases setout,
They can not move to the next phases until most houses are sold in phase they have just build.

It not good any of you getting on your high horse now,why did you not like myself go to the public meetings some years ago and have your say.?
That is why I join the parish council so to try and stop it.
I put it to you Mr Little that you have just joined on the bandwagon now to help you get votes.
But anyway far to late now the road now.

DDC abandon high profile areas of the town to rot for decades yet encourage developers to concrete over the countryside. They disgust me.

it is mostly about growth point status, money comes the way of ddc if they encourage more house building.

Sorry, Brian, your guess is as good as mine. Some houses at Whitfield will be for rent anyway, we hear.

No one knows yet .
I do not know where you hear that some will be for rent.
They well might be but it is wait and see.

Vic, when a new estate is built, normally 20-30% of the houses go to buy-to-let landlords. Quite normal.
