Well they should wake up and smell the coffee because that is what the population want. I keep banging on at Charlie about Europe being the big issue in 2015 but whether the message will get through to No 10 is another matter. Cameron and Osborne seem to be getting more and more detached from the real world all the time and it worries me. Perhaps there's something in the Downing St water supply, because Blair and Brown did almost exactly the same thing.

Sadly that is what happens when you leave 'normal' life and reach the top, it happens to so many in the top position in any career.

Keith - we will be getting out of the EU. It is only a matter of time and it will be a Conservative government that will do it. I have given my reasons previously for saying this.

Keith - you are an old politician yourself. You know never to take what politicians say too literally. Events will see us out of the EU in due course.

Keith - you need to catch up, I have said it before - get ahead of the curve and not behind it. I know you are not really as politically naive as you like to pretend.

No Keith - just being a politician, there is a difference. The political reality changes all the time and we are on a course that will certainly lead to our exiting the EU under a Conservative government. It may be Cameron's successor in the Conservative majority government after 2017 that eventually gets us out. The Conservative mood is increasingly hostile to the EU including among Cameron's inner circle. I have explained all this in more detail before.

Keith - mid-term, nothing strange or unusual there. I am just surprised it has taken so long but it will be a different story in 3 years.
