If manston becomes a hub airport, and I hope it will.
The English Channel would become number one flight path for transatlantic flights,
These aircraft are some of the biggest in the air, and they will be on full power as they struggle for altitude.
In the day time no problem, at 3 in the morning maybe.
This is why other airports have time restriction, the solution, bank them over the French problem solved.

Great news about that new road over there near Manston Airport. Have the official opening picture from yesterday now on the front page..just had the pic through from Laura Sandys MP for Thanet South. Greatly improves the links between Dover Ramsgate and Manston...the message is..we're open for business in East Kent!

Excellent news for air travellers, let us hope they can take a night flight, as said in an earlier post East Kent needs to look forward and grab this opportunity before it slips through our fingers, yet again!

Them good-ol' Lib-Dems and there road building...or is this the fruits of a New-Labour over spend?
We here are not always too troubled by air-liners swooping low into the air-port upon Thames or winging and re-winging their way to Heathrow, it is hard to hear them over the din of air-ambulance,police and military choppers. But, while walking through last Sunday's muggy evening I was aware that the air was drenched in jet-fuel. Took me right back to me ol' granny's sitting-room/kitchen, so it did (as some might put it).
Boom-boom-boom so-you-too?
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Excellant new road system there now, but mainly built ready for the expansion of Manston Airport.
I wonder what will happen to the Parkway station that was going to be built just outside the airport ?
There's been a lot happening in South Thanet and across Dover District - some started, some beimng worked on, but all great news.

All they need now is some flights or it's going to be the road to nowhere.
My daughter regularly used the Flybe Edinburgh service but that was closed at the end of March due to lack of customers, so let's hope some other airlines start doing scheduled flights to UK and Europe, it's just small charter holidays for passengers at present though the freight business is a large part of their activity.
The more business there is at Manston the more business there will be. That's how it goes.......

let's not forget the old pfizer site which i think is called "discovery park" or similar.
paul carter, paul watkins and david willetts are at the forefront of trying to bring in investment, hopefully the new road will give them more clout.

the issue doesn't go quiet for long and we had all the protaganists on the box
earlier.
the main protestor had a lot to say for herself but i got the impression that she
liked being the centre of attention and would do most anything to get on the news.

i think they keep changing keith, it is a hung council and defections seem to be the norm.
from what i have read it is all a political game being played and thanet residents are not being well served.

was listening to the early evening local news [itv] im sure they that night flights where going ahead.
The new road has resulted in traffic jams for any motorist trying to get into Thanet from Cliffs end , it took 50 minutes to travel less than a mile . It appears that they have underestimated the ammount of traffic that still needs to use this route . So far it has doubled the time of my daily journey

I've been travelling to the QEQM regularly for the past 12 weeks. The traffic has been fine until the new road was officially opened by the Minister! Now that the traffic lights on the roundabouts have been switched on, the queues are just as bad as ever. With the closure of Pfizer and the sale (and lack of development at Manston), this investment could well turn into the biggest white elephant in East Kent thus far. Literally a road to nowhere!
Mind you Kevin it does add a certain something to the morning playing " Guess how late I am going to be today "
