looks a lovely old church though, must have been in a state of disrepair to have been demolised, especially after defying our luftwaffe friends 20 years previously.

20:5783380I went to that church for years and both me and David was singers there and Dav got married in that church to and when my dad died we had the service in it to. It was abig church but very cold.

Chances are that with the falling military garrison after WW2 a lot of churches were lost - Snargate Street Wesleyan Chapel, Snargate Street (where Smye Rumsby now is), Holy Trinity in the Pier District, Synagogue by De Bradei, Western Heights Garrison Chapel, Salem Church under Boots, and many more !!!

22:0383384It was none of that, it was down to how many went to the church in the end they were geting so few going there that it was costing the C/E so much to keep it open and it needed a new roof,that the C/E said it had to close.
