11:0982033It was snowing out here in sheep country (makes them hard to find

) but slowing down now.
Here's a question a techie type maight be able to answer. My laptop has a 'gadget' that tells me the weather and temperature from anywhere in the world that is on a searchable list. So far this morning it has told me that Dover is sunny with temperature rising from 1 degree to 3 degrees than back down to 1 again - and as I type it has gone to minus one and snowing. Anyone know how this works and where the sensors are, or is it a team of geeks updating it manually?

11:2282038I rather like the idea of a team of speccies sitting in a dark room with one, tiny, window allowing them to observe the weather............

11:4082048Ray, I have only just logged on and my computer says -1 and snow which has nearly stopped. I think Langdon Bay is the local observation station on the BBC website.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

12:0382055Yes Langdon is one site and the other for the area is at Manston.
I cannot find the website, but I also think there are a couple of weather bouys off the coast too that feed into it.
Been nice knowing you :)

grass grows by the inches but dies by the feet.

12:0882794Yes Brian
Mr Harris, who lived in a bungalow further along the road.
Been told by a neighbour who has to get up to St Radigunds Abbey to care for horses, that the farmer ploughing the roads causes more problems than he solves as he leaves a heavily compacted layer of very slippery snow behind.
