"Andy, I am fascinated. How is recognising UKIP's inherent xenophobia in any way bigotted?"
Simple really, Chris - you are tarring all those who believe that Great Britain would be better off outside the EU with the same brush, that the very belief of being independent of a massive European superstate is somehow xenophobic. Arrogant rubbish, in my book, the sort of desperate emotive phrase trawled up by those who cannot see that there just might reasoned belief that Great Britain does not need the EU for economic survival.
Some believe that this country could rely on historic ties with the Commonwealth for economic growth (witness the Prime Minister in India this week trying that very tack), some believe that being without the EU opens up much wider trade areas and others believe that the economic millstone of paying £48m per day to Europe is too much, too undemocratic and too bureaucratic. Nowhere in there does xenophobia raise its head; UKIP is by no means the BNP, as you're damn well aware, and you know full well that yours was a cheap insult designed to cause offence.
That is how it was bigoted, Chris.
True friends stab you in the front.

Anne - I have a friend who did the internet dating thing despite all of us being a little concerned, and she met some great guys: a huge lovely Irishman (I may be biased here!!) who was a biker and really fun; a tattooed man with a SOH to die for; her husband to whom she has been married now for about 3 years. And she was over 50 when she first tried it out. And, confidentially, the s*x was worth the subscription.....................
Not that we discussed that of course...........

thanks for the clarification bern, mind you you did infer he had a beard!!
a bit like someone we both know.
hi Bern yes I am doing that already, I had a date this week, he looked lovely on the photo. Unfortunately the photo did not show his gravestone black teeth and the photo was probably 20 years old. He had a nice personality though but not fanciable.
So it may be better to meet face to face also it is a case of meeting local people as I am keen to find out what is going on. The Disney thing tomorrow sounds appealing.
There are not many on that web site from Dover.
I think luck has a lot to do with it, and my mate was exceptionally lucky! And yes, he did have a beard Howard, which was an, ahem, integral part of his charm(s).
I didn't realise you got a free pair of sox with an internet date. Must check that out.
Sid!! THat was clearly a reference to a "six", cricketing at its best. Free sox indeed - what would people think?!

not to worry mark you are safe, anne said she would not take you even with all the cakes thrown in.
is there no one else though??
I have been out and about this weekend, I somehow managed to miss the Disney cast and Dover seemed very quiet yesterday afternoon. I went along to the Park Inn to sus out the evening but there were a few drunks outside who put me off going in.
So I decided to try Canterbury today and found it relatively quiet. It is weird for me being around in school hols as I am usually away.
I have found out though that the Railway Bell has a good quiz night tomorrow and singles can either join tables or group together,
There is a Murder Mystery Saturday and the same applies there.
