I believe there are problems at the Channel Tunnel with traffic diverting to the port to avoid it.

the town was stuffed at 0715 this morning, all roads into dover was stuffed with slow or static traffic.local radio was stating 2 hour delays at dover harbour and 5 hour delays at Eurotunnel.

The roadworks In Charlton Green/Maison Dieu certainly aren't helping.
I went to Hawkinge via The Valley at about 10:45 this morning and the traffic inbound was backed up to Kearsney . I could see from The Valley that the A20 was backed up to almost the Roundhill Tunnel.
Started to regret starting my journey.
Came back via The Valley, River, and St. Rads (Bunkers Hill). The Hill out of Alkham Valley/Kearsney was backed up to the Temple Ewell turn off and it took an age to get along Barton Road, where people don't get that it now goes single file for a bit where they built that pointless, 50 yards long bit of "cycle path" and you have to zip merge.
Can anyone tell me what the A2 is like? I may have to drive to Canterbury and back tonight.

Just managed to turn up Pencester at 7.30 this morning.
Is Folkestone Road clear? I’m parked there by the station.

Was a nightmare getting from Priory village into far flung Dover earlier but most of the town was free flowing by about 1 pm. Folkestone Road is clear which begs the question of why Stagecoach cancelled all buses between Dover and Folkestone other than the 91.

Village life is not for everyone, I have no particularly wish to dance around a maypole, wear a smock or join in with satanic rituals in the dead of night.

Had an appointment at WHH at 09.15 this morning. Was horrified at the amount of traffic at a standstill coming into Dover.
I came back via Sellinge, then down to Saltwood and then Capel. Surprisingly only about 40 minutes to Maxton, then another 25 to home from there!

River is North Dover has been for years,

It is a nice part and we feel lucky to live where we do ,but still Dover and a lot of us were born in Dover and over years just moved a round it or in it, but some have come from other parts of the UK and that is Ok with myself, years ago it was a real parish with just roads leading into Dover but over the years building of new homes etc has taken over. Not much more to say about it.Apart from the nice parks.

I'm glad I didn't decide to pop down to town today as had been my original intention!
