As a member of UKIP Dover branch, I received a letter from the secretary John Buckly erlier this year to attend the meeting, which was to be held at Blakes, to take part in the nomination of committee members and of the chairman.
But as Vic had already stated on the Forum then that I was not a member, and e-mailed me that I will not be allowed to speak at the meeting, I didn't bother attending it.
In fact, I had already contacted Vic proposing some kind of idea to promote local UKIP councillor candidates in trying to get the message over before the May elections, and asked Vic to organise a meeting of UKIP supporters so I could hold a speech to present myself and my ideas before standing as a councillor candidate.
Vic - the chairman - had no intention of contacting anyone among the UKIP supporters of Dover, nor the public in general, but then the Mountain doesn't need to go to Mohammed, does it?
Vic decided to exclude me from UKIP by saying I wasn't a member. In fact I had meanwhile informed him that I wished to stand as candidtae for chairman, so as to get proposals over and to get something going at party level.
Vic cannot affront a match, so he plays referee, and disqualifies the other contendent, and proclaims himself as winner without opponents, as no-one dared to challenge him.
Who challenged him was disqualified, by the referee...Vic, of-course.
Anyway, after all that, I thought that if Vic wanted to continue as chairman, ok, in fact I encouraged him after that time.
But when Vic put this thread up to announce he is packing in as chairman at the next meeting (maybe Vic will tell us when that meeting is), I advised him, on this thread (see above posts) to inform UKIP members so that candidates can come forward.
Meanwhile Vic has changed his mind and said he won't pack in after all. My point is, this is of no good to UKIP, Vic is abusing UKIP's trust in him, and I feel that it is unfair towards the party, and even if I am no longer a member (since end of June this year, as I have not renewed my membership) I still feel that it is unfair towards the party, which Vic is taking for a ride.
I make jokes, but I never joke with other people's trust and faith, with which one has to be serious and sincere.
Before I first joined UKIP, Vic had informed me that I could become chairman, as he was stepping down. When I joined, he emailed me to say: No, I've changed my mind!
Since then he has said he's packing in about 20 times, and then each time changed his mind. Instead, in all this time, he has been adding more committee posts to his list, from Lord Mayor of the Castle to President of the NHS, Rotary Holder of the Royal Charter, Lord of the Cinque Ports, Parish Councillor of half of Kent's villages, King of English Heritage, Emperor of China...
It don't bother Alexander, I enjoy life and find my way through!
I'm happy! Still, I thought it unfair on UKIP to be taken for a ride.
