This whole immigration subject has now been taken over by the extremists on both sides so we get nowhere and learn nothing we have not heard before.
We desperately need some immigrants who will be a huge benefit to this country.
What we do not want and certainly do not need are some of the law breaking and trouble making ones, far to many having been funded in some way by criminals

Well there's a whole hotel full of them here with all the staff sacked just before Christmas!

And I wonder why?
Back in 2018 I attended a one day seminar on Combating Gangs, Violence and Weapon Crime with Cressida Dick as the main speaker, plus various others including Lynne Owens, then Director-General, National Crime Agency talking on The Threat of County Lines Violence, Exploitation & Drug Supply.
In 2019 I watched a Channel 4 documentary, 'Britain's Child Drug Runners' which included a child from Banbury.
https://www.banburyguardian.co.uk/news/crime/banbury-social-workers-team-up-with-national-tv-documentary-in-fight-against-drugs-gangs-920036
In 2020 I was stuck for seven weeks during lock-down in Banbury on my canal boat and talked to various people about the local 'scene' which is mostly run from the West Midlands.
https://www.banburyguardian.co.uk/news/crime/multiple-arrests-made-in-banbury-as-part-of-thames-valley-police-operation-tackling-county-lines-drug-dealing-3251778
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/black-country/county-lines-crushed-gallivanting-drug-22409914
Local police have so far been doing a reasonable job on combating drug distribution.
The recent importation of large numbers of Albanians has really put the O in OCGs making the 'post code' gangs, most of whom still live with their mothers (!) seem amateur.
https://irpimedia.irpi.eu/en-albanian-mafia-uk-cocaine-supply/
I seriously worry about a 69 bed Banbury being turned over to bored, fit, male 18-30 year olds with nothing to do and the effect on crime there where to the best of my knowledge few of Thames Valley Police speak Albanian.
This scenario is being replicated all over the country.
Not to worry. Here's some nice motors.

I do wonder B o b over the years how you have come to your political beliefs which obviously are quite strong .
I recall sitting in the grammar school and asking you why you joined lab and you said they Sat closest to your view at that time lol
Getting back to the post, the two biggest parties talk a good talk on immigration , but nothing has worked that well up to now

Yup.
Daily coverage in ALL media over past year since I started topic..
Question(s) again at PMQs today.
An awful lot of people seem 'obsessed' along with me Ray.
Now if you're looking for 'obsession' look no further than someone who counts someone else's posts?

Throughout history have always been the workshy and lazy as well as those who are now better off relying on the benefit system. These are the ones who will not be doctors or nurses or any other skilled job you can think of that immigrants have filled in the past and will in the future.
I repeat we need some immigration even if that does not fit well with the Captain and the narrow views he so loves to post on here.

Minimum wage in US 7.25 dollars/ hr.
However shortage of labour pushes up salary rather than calling for more cheap imported labour.

Good Lord. You really do have a high opinion of your influence, don't you?
As for obsession, well, I don't see half the country going on strike over it. They've obviously got more sense and realise where their real problems lie. And as for counting posts, it was worth it just to point out the absurdity of it. I doubt that anyone else on here will ever display an obsession to match it.

Never claimed causal effect Ray. PLEASE just stop reading my ramblings if you are not 'interested'.
You sure that rumours that you have a little shrine to which you give daily obeisance in one corner of the communal area with an old photograph of me cut from the EKM are untrue?

It read that way. And, by and large, your posts can be a source of amusement. In any event, asylum seeker figures were higher in the early 2000s, long before you started this thread, and were given considerable media coverage at the time.

Believe it or not, 'our' Natalie thinks they are coming here due to advertising on TikTok!
?s=20&t=w2TJYRnPS0kOSiCPTa4gxA
Presumably she is hoping TikTok, owned by the censorious Chinese who suppress free speech, will censor these 'adverts'.
'Only' another 240 'migrants' arriving yesterday (Sunday) to a free NHS check up, hot halal lunch and coach to a 4* hotel.
What's not to like?
(Meanwhile Dover District Council is advertising 'warm spaces' across the district for pensioners to huddle together to keep warm)

It is not 'out of control'. It's working just as the former member for Sedgefield envisaged.
Which is why there will be 'no serious attempts to sort it', just a number of machine-rinsed operatives (e.g. Mrs E) performing feints for the benefit of Tory tribalists.
